Emperor/Empress/Empirex of the Gyohdo Empire, Ruler of the Nine, Defender of the Islands

The ruler of the Gyohdo Empire this title to date has only been passed down the Tyro Family. With the Death of Antiv Tyro in 1564 and there being no remaining known relatives of the Tyro family for the first time since the foundation of the empire the title is up for grabs.

Qualifications

Until recently what was a qualifier was to be the ruler of the islands was to be a member of the Tyro Family. Now with no living Tyro the title is being debated as to who it should go to.

Requirements

The holder of this title must be at least 21 years of age, and as of the time of Asander I of Gyohdo have undergone at least 5 years of military service.

Appointment

The next holder of this title was chosen by the previous holder amongst the members of the Tyro family. As Antiv Tyro was the last member of the title when he died it lapsed and now the decision is to be held by the Council of Eight.

Duties

The holder of this rank is responsible for the governance of the Gyohdo Empire, the maintenance of the military, the tactical movements of its arms, controlling trade, and maintaining the funds for governance.

Responsibilities

The holder of the rank is responsible for the actions of each of the divisions that makes up the council of eight as well as maintaining the entirety of the Gyohdo Empire.

Accoutrements & Equipment

The holder of this rank is the only one who has access to the Vault of Wonders located beneath Ran'Val Castle, as well as the command of the military forces of Gyohdo, and full access to Ran'Val Castle.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

Death or Forced Abdication by the will of the people enforced by the Council of Eight by 5-3 vote, to date no ruler has ever been forcibly abdicated from the throne.

History

The persons bearing this title have on been involved in the Unification of Mah'Lo as well as the Three Island Wars.

Cultural Significance

Whenever another culture has interacted with the Gyohdo Empire it has always inevitably lead to a meeting with the one who sits on the Throne of the Nine. For most the Emperors/Empress/Empirexs of the islands have always been hospitable and tactful in their interactions.
