Personal history
Created in Era 1, 698, Metal Ox served in the Greenskin War in its entirety. After the war ran its course, Metal Ox was relegated to the position of gladiator. Forced to fight and kill his own people for entertainment, Metal Ox grew resentful of his dwarven overlords. Eventually, he was found to be defective after a particularly brutal battle and was thrown down a scrap pit in the center of the mountain. Soon after, he was found and repaired by the rock gnomes who lived in secrecy under the mountain to have access to mounds of technological scrap. After his repairs, Metal Ox lived with the gnomes for some time to help them out in return for saving his life. Later, he left the gnomes in search of adventure. He found some in the form of a baby dragon whom he dubbed Krixus. He saved the silver dragon at a young age and raised him for years so that he would be strong enough to fend for himself.
His next adventure was one of vengeance. Metal Ox's wanderings found him in the town of Grendale. He joined forces with Leif Eriksson and Gustavo Maximo. After adventuring for some time, Metal Ox left the Crimson Dragons to go to the Lands Below and hunt duergar with a revenant named Al-Mirajj. The party pursued him, but only managed to find him due to his new group of allies slowing him down to a mortal pace. Metal Ox had planned an ambush just in case the party attempted to fight him and as Gustavo approached his position he drew the blade he had been given by the revenant, a sentient shortsword named Brogûl Dwarfbreaker. He and Gustavo talked and eventually came to an agreement. Together, they would all destroy the duergar slaver, Dormak, who the revenant was after. After helping the revenant claim his vengeance upon the slaver, the party returned to the surface.
The next major event that Metal Ox participated in was the destruction of an orcish fortress. Together with the Crimson Dragons mercenary force, he destroyed an army of orcs and their king. The king's crown was actually Brogûl's ancient crown and as such Metal Ox took it. With Brogûl and the crown reunited, Metal Ox was able to track down a set of gems that used to belong to the crown. These gems, a ruby, an emerald, and a diamond, further empowered the sentient blade when they were embedded in the crossguard. The sword, itself already exceedingly powerful after feasting on the blood of countless dwarves, became Metal Ox's closest ally. Together, they vowed to destroy the dwarven royal family that had resigned them to terrible fates.
In the sewers of Khar-Garom, Metal Ox purchased a treasure map that was said to lead him to a powerful set of armor worn by the warrior-mage that created Stogizan. Also in these sewers, Metal Ox had multiple upgrades commissioned. The first was a crossbow-like mechanism that would fire one of his hands attached to a chain to act as a grappling hook that could be retracted. The second of these upgrades was a chainblade fitted into a slot in his other arm. This was so that he would never be without a weapon in case of attack in a situation where he doesn't have Brogûl. Soon after, he was approached by a triton paladin named Cozos Ulonzath to help eliminate a fiendish threat to the world. Metal Ox agreed to help and the two made their way to Avernus, the first layer of Hell. There, the two warriors fought and killed a powerful fiend who sought to build an amulet capable of controlling time and, with it, conquer Hell and, likely, the rest of the multiverse. The amulet was damaged in the battle and Metal Ox claimed it. He used it to help pursue his goal of building an army of Vect as well as a floating island for all of vectkind to live after eliminating the dwarven royal line of Khar-Garom and freeing his people.
Metal Ox would then spend his time questing away from the Crimson Dragons, oftentimes finding himself in various prisons. He claimed the Realm Shatterer's Armor, built a shield out of the bone of a green dragon slain by the Crimson Dragons, and assisted Rocktooth Bearhide in building the Chromatic Vale as well as in the battle against Kuraulyek. Metal Ox's crowning achievements in this time were, however, much more impressive. He managed to forge the ultimate weapon; a sword made from the bone and crystalized brain matter of a dead greater god, engineer the creation of a gargantuan version of himself that he could pilot by plugging himself into its core, and raise an island from the ocean to serve as the home for the free vect.
After participating in the battle against the Dark Druid, Metal Ox stomped over to Khar-Garom and slew the remainder of the royal family. He then instituted the twelve master smiths as the rulers of the land, with himself being the thirteenth member of their council in case of ties in votes. The vect race was freed by his hand and given a place to live on his floating island which he set to orbit Khar-Garom for ease of trade and shipment of reparations for the enslavement of the vect.
Over the years since then, Metal Ox has built over the entirety of the island, giving it the name of the Iron Isle. He located an artificer of a machine cult who had the secrets of creating another machine race known as the warforged and harboured him in his lands, giving him the status of nobility in return for his help in producing warforged. He also created a form of magical prostheses that he used to augment members of the adventuring party Varahosst's Host after losing various parts of their bodies. In return for his help, Metal Ox was given a large and well-cut diamond for his crown by Simon Mockwell.
