Aasimar
Like the tieflings, the aasimar are an otherworldly race. Born from the union of a celestial and humanoid (predominantly humans), the sole purpose of an aasimar is to combat the forces of evil -- mainly the likes of demon kind. Their predominant enemies are the tieflings and like the tieflings, it is assumed that all aasimar are predominantly good due to their celestial origins and bloodlines. Even though they are predisposed to this, that isn't always the case with some of them aligning themselves with much darker forces. Many become blood hunters, paladins, or clerics to try and rid the world of dark forces. Since the birth of an aasimar is quite the phenomenon, their births are hugely celebrated due to the preconceived notion that they are bringers of justice. Because of their celestial heritage, there are many races that are quite friendly towards them.
Basic Information
Biological Traits
Most aasimar live up to about 160 years. Female aasimar tend to be a bit shorter and weigh a bit less than males, but taking both genders into consideration, aasimar can weigh anywhere from 89-280 lbs. and can range from 5-7'4" tall. Their skin, hair, and eye color all tend to depend on the origin of their celestial ancestor.
Genetics and Reproduction
It is known that aasimar reproduce sexually, but outside of that there is no other information that can be gathered. It is very rare for aasimar to reproduce with each other for the sole purpose to not draw even more attention than they already have from the otherworldly planes. Most aasimar tend to reproduce with humans since they seem to be the only humanoid race capable of bearing their offspring. As for why that is no one knows.
Dietary Needs and Habits
From what little knowledge there is on aasimar, one can assume that like the other humanoid races; making them omnivores.
Additional Information
Social Structure
Much like the tieflings, aasimar have no culture or society of their own. They tend to adopt the culture and customs of whatever land they happen to inhabit. They used to be a lot more prominent when demons and other dark creatures from mystical planes used to frequent Edda quite often. Now they are a rarity, and hardly ever meet another of their own race. When they do happen to meet another of their race they tend to have an unspoken bond or kinship, and will often times take each other's sides no matter their feelings towards one another.
Uses, Products & Exploitation
In the past and even sometimes to this day, aasimar are mainly used as holy judges or warriors that zealously seek out evildoers mainly in the name of whatever god or gods that they serve.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Aasimar can be found anywhere throughout the world of Edda.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Aasmiar are known to have uncanny perception and awareness, along with several limited magical abilities. It has also been said that aasimar are resistant to extreme types of weather such as scorching heath, and the blistering cold.

History
The aasimar first started to appear soon after tieflings began to spring up across Edda. When the demon kings and their fallen celestials were cast out of the heavens, tieflings began being born as a result of demons mating with the humanoid races. The celestials, fearing that these tieflings could spread corruption throughout the world, tried to counter this. They did this by siring their own children with the humanoid races (predominantly humans) and producing the first aasimar. Since then, aasimar and tieflings have been enemies for all time.
With the aasimar believing that tieflings are nothing better than their demon-like nature, many an aasimar have become blood hunters, paladins, and clerics in an attempt to eradicate them from the earth. They see it as a divine and just cause ordained by whatever god or gods that they believe in, and that it is the sole duty of their race. As the demons and tieflings dwindled in number across Edda, so did the aasimar. This was due in part to many of them fighting and dying for their crusade, but also their bloodlines remaining dormant throughout the centuries making an aasimar more of a rarity as the years have gone on. Now, like their eternal enemy the tieflings, the aasimar are a rarity in the world.
