The Planar Star Map

In the grand Cosmology of Edda, or perhaps one should say Arcanoterra to refer to the world as a whole, the different Planes shift and pass, making it very hard to find a direct location for them. However, many mages, scientists, and astrologists have spent eons observing their general positions and "closeness" to the Material Plane, and have been able to A) Identify most of, if not all, of the strong planes and B) Rank them in terms of closeness. The list of Planes in Edda are as follows:
  • Plane 0: The Material Plane - Arcanoterra, where mortal beings live and thrive.
  • Plane 0.1: The Dark Plane The Midnight Realm- Not much is known of this location, except that it is a Demiplane that grew to become a sub-division of the material, and that it is the spawning ground of many foul creatures, such as Vampires.
  • Plane 0.5: The Etheral Plane - Where spirits and lingering energy lays dormant before passing on to other planes or afterlives. It is close to our realm, and many spells and magic make use of it as a passageway or energy source.
  • Plane 1: The Feywild - The first Plane to have it's own ecosystem and flow of life. It is the home to magical Fey creatures and those who are influenced by them, alongside forces of nature that come into whimsical being. It is ruled over by many Archfey, who themselves are minions of The God-Fae not present directly in the realm, and is subdivided into its own separate sectors, each under a different Archfey. However, it is still near the Material Plane, and some have noted similarities between the sectors and the areas of Edda.
  • Plane 2: The Plane of Mysticism - The last of the Planes seemingly anchored to The Material Plane, this world resembles a wild Edda of the past, with sprawling plains, forests, and mountains with little to no modern civilization. As such, it's become a hiding place for previously hunted down creatures, such as Dragons and Giants. Many magical creatures that are not Fey-Oriented spawn from this realm as well, especially the animalistic ones, such as Manticores or Chimeras.
  • Plane 2.9: The Astral Plane - As we move from the Anchored Planes, those who travel amongst the planes note that everything past here has a different Star Map, placing them as different realms entirely from Edda. The Astral Plane is a realm of mysterious and dreadful creatures, and to the untrained can be a stopgap to the rest of the realms. It consists of a belt within the vast cosmos, made of strange orbs of light, almost like shimmering bubbles, that contain micro societies of their own. Some Aberrations come from these orbs, along with the odd elven-esque creatures of The Gith, along with their dreadful enemies, the Mindflayers.
  • Plane 3: The Elemental Planes - A collection of 4 inter-woven landscapes that form the basis of Elemental Energy. Unsurprisingly, Elemental based creatures can spawn naturally here, as do some occasional elemental energy spasms. Additionally, there are societies of Genasi living in this plane, Elemental Energy made into flesh just as Mana did for the Material Plane ages ago.
  • Plane 3a: Copper Flames - The city of Brass and Copper, home to the Primordial Core of Fire, the energizing heart of the land. On its borders with the other realms, it creates the lands of Steam (Water), Magma (Earth), and Lightning (Air).
  • Plane 3b: Silver Water - The islands of Silver and Marble, home to the Primordial Core of Water, the pulsating life of the oceans. On its borders with the other realms, it creates the lands of Steam (Fire), Mud (Earth), and Mist (Air).
  • Plane 3c: Golden Winds - The plains of Gold and Wheat, home to the Primordial Core of Air, the cleansing breath of the fields. On its borders with the other realms, it creates the lands of Lightning (Fire), Mist (Water), and Dust (Earth).
  • Plane 3d: Platinum Earth - The mountains of Platinum and Obsidian, home to the Primordial Core of Earth, the echoing voice of the peaks. On its borders with the other realms, it creates the lands of Magma (Fire), Mud (Water), and Dust (Air).
  • Plane 4: The Plane of Terror - The first of Four Divine Planes, and the home of the oft-forgotten Fear Gods, along with their realms of pure terror and instinctive madness and malice. Each of the 10 gods have their own subdivisions based on their intrinsic fears.
  • Plane 5: Chaos Incarnate - A spacial rift of a place that separates the Divine Planes from the more material realms, with the exception of The Plane of Terror. It is a space of contradictions and imposibilities that spawn unique and chaotic energy, that can spread and touch anything. There are some theories that the Wild Magic Zones are analogous to this Plane, IE a Wild Zone in the leylines of Space rather than just a planetary set.
  • Plane 6: The Closer Divine Plane - One of the main planes that house the divine bodies of those who are worshipped on Arcanoterra. The True Giants, with their impossible anatomies and titanic bodies, The Cabal of The Night Sky, mysterious and transient in form, The God-Fae, with their capricious moods and boons, and The Ascendants, shining examples of previously mortal brilliance, make their homes here, along with the celestial beings they spawn into creation with their faith and love for mortality.
  • Plane 7: The Further Divine Plane - The second main plane of Divine Beings, the Further Divine Plane consists of The Natural Spirits, figureheads of morality and nature for those of Alicein, The Court of The Heavens, figureheads of order and civility on a divine scale, and the enormous Mother Dragons, who can cover worlds with their wings, along with the various divine entities they spawn into being with their faith and their followers piety.
  • Plane 8: The Lone Divine Plane - The last Divine Plane, and quite the oddity, as there is only one inhabitant of this plane. A vast, blue, reflective pond allows the starry cosmos to gaze upon itself, the energy and emotion of The Great Blue, all while The Lone God sits alone, watching over all that is cosmos.
  • Plane 9: The Vast Beyond - Beyond these planes exists only the Cosmos. There is a possibility of other forms of life, but none with Magic that can be used to travel there or cast ones vision there, creating the vast expanse of nothing yet everything, for while the Cosmos is a vast and empty void, the stars and energy and pure radiance of the origin of all things means everything is there.
Alongside these realms, there also exists the realms of the Hells, which are subdivided into three increasingly trecherous domains of demons, devils, and pain incarnate. These are marked as Plane -1: Entry of Hell, Plane -2: Madness of Hell, and Plane -3: Never-Ending Hell.
