The Divine Star Map

The planet Edda is located on, Arcanoterra, is not the only celestial body in its neighborhood. Although many of the others are stealthily hidden as separate planes, they are known in the modern-day to be spheres of their own power, life, and energy. Not every plane exists as such, for example, the Feywild and Plane of Mysticism seem firmly attached to Arcanoterra in one way or another, but the other planes exist on various levels away from the material realm itself.
While many had observed that solar cycles, leyline energy, and tether to Edda were different for these outer planes, no one knew the truth scope of their division from the mortal world until the divine sage Saturnalis Sundalis Premonicious preformed an intense ritual to scry upon a passing asteroid, witnessing first-hand the scope and magnitude of the stars.

Purpose

By channeling extreme magical power with the advent of a passing meteor, the purpose of this task was to allow mankind, and especially those of The Cabal, to know the shape and path of the stars they worshipped. After its recording, the map has been used and added to in order to deepen that understanding and communicate Edda's connection to the divine planes that exist away from the standard flow of Arcanoterra.

While the map was at first relegated to just the knowledge of The Cabal of the Night Sky and its associated high-scholars, the knowledge quickly spread around the main kingdoms of Edda at the time, and in the modern-day is common knowledge for almost all spellcasters, especially those that draw power from the stars in one way or another.

Historical Details

Background

As one 500-year era turned to the next, the time was fast approaching for the new Era to be named, and there was intense debate over which kingdom would be able to have the honor.
Luckily for Avalon, one of its greatest minds was planning a daring and potentially dangerous attempt: gathering enough magical power for a spell surpassing the 10th Magic Level, to the 11th, and Scrying on a passing Asteroid to observe the night sky, the Outer Sea, for the sake of increasing knowledge for The Cabal of The Night Sky and the world at large.
This man was Saturnalis Sundalis Premonicious, an already venerated scholar of the order who had previously assisted with the creation of the 7-day week after observing the minute ebb and flow of the leylines. Now, he would solidify our cosmology as well, and define the period to come as The Astral Era.

Public Reaction

When the immense spell succeeded, not only did it mark a new ceiling of magecraft, requiring a power output beyond the 10th Spell Level, but it also vastly increased the scope of understanding for the wider world.
In one night, it was confirmed that land existed outside of Edda's supercontinent, the existence of physical other realms, a star system beyond our mere sight, and that mana could travel past the atmosphere in one form or another.
It also proved that, despite being different in makeup, the Ethereal Plane, Feywild, and Plane of Mysticism *were* layered onto Edda, or Arcanoterra as it were since they were not separate spheres of existence in their own right, despite the occasional differences in solar cycles that were witnessed.
While many would dispute these findings at first, the information that Premonicious provided was adequate enough for talented Sages to accomplish similar feats of scrying, proving his results.

Legacy

Over the centuries, even as diasters such as The Shattering have prevented the same intense level of Scrying from being performed, The Divine Star Map has provided essential direction for the future of Star-Based Magic, Astrology, Planar Understanding, and more for years, and this event was epoch-defining enough that the next 500-year era, ranging from -5500 to the end of -5001 would be known as The Astral Era.

The Divine Star Map

"Upon seeing through the eyes of the asteroid, not only was I stunned by the starry visage of the outer sea, but also by the influx of information implanted within my mind, as one who hath pierced past the veil. Perhaps this was a divine act or a working of fate, but as I gazed upon the outer sea I could know, in rudimentary forms, the truth of what I gazed upon. Not only was there the hall of Diamant, the flaming sun in the center of our cosmic dance, but 6 spheres of titanic size, some even larger than what I assumed to be Arcanoterra, as it was closest to myself and the asteroid. But, I had gazed upon them, which meant that I could Scry upon them in conjunction, for the power imbued in me for this journey was vast and immense.
Thus, as I draw this map, let the following truths be known: The planet closest to Diamant is a crimson sphere, which contains the multitudes of Hell itself. Many a time have I gazed upon its surface in my war against demonic forces, and my journies to save innocent souls as well, and this time was no different. Due to being the prison and torture ground of many a corrupt soul, and the final resting place for just as many demonic souls, I have titled this sphere Carcere.
The next planet I was able to scry upon took the form of a planet entirely submerged in gray oceans, with the exception of small sprouts of land, where tall fortresses flanked with spectral guards, and black-clad matriarchs watched over the waters, which were revealed to be awash with souls and other spectral forms. It is my surmise that this sphere contained the entirety of The Astral Plane, and I have titled it Rapax in honor of The Soulmaiden, Raven.
The third planet I gazed upon was small and yet consisted of a large central landmass, a massive ocean, and a chaotic storm in the skies of the world. Clearly, this sphere contained The Elemental Plane, the epitome of the forces of nature, and as such, I titled it Natura.
Surprisingly, it is the fourth planet in this organization that I knew to be Arcanoterra, our home, and astonishingly I saw much more land sprawl out from what I could place as Edda from my celestial positioning. Whether these other lands hold life is an unknown, or if we can reach them past the Wild Zones, but hope exists.
The next sphere, rather uncomfortably close to Arcanoterra, I needn't scry on at all. It radiated with a malevolent aura, and its orbiting body gazed back at me with its own watchful stare. I knew this was the home of The Fear Gods and their antithetical ways. But another familiar feeling wrestled within my gut as well, the feeling of uselessness against a tide of sheer unpredictability, perhaps the fabled Realm of Chaos, where many sporadic casters draw their strength, is also nestled within that home of fear. In any case, for being the resting place of the foul nightmares, I have titled it Metus.
Similarly, the final planet I witnessed in a visible vicinity was equally unmistakable, as its divine aura was filled with a radiance I had not seen or felt before, even from the strongest Grand Seer. But, as it was not as treacherous as the previous, I did allow my vision to venture to that realm as well and found its gilded halls and hearty light to be the same as the Divine Realms are described. Therefore, I posit that the three divine realms are present on this sphere and its satellites. As such, I title this planet Divinus. Past this, I could see no other celestial object to which I could tether my magic, and my time with the energy began to wane, with the last thing I could feel being an omnipresent gaze outside of my sight as if I was being watched, or perhaps that I was merely intruding in a vigilant watch of all of the spheres, for it felt broad and all-consuming.
With this information recorded, we shall begin a new age of understanding and discovery, a perfect way to usher in our latest era of unity as the Three Kingdoms. May we deepen the knowledge of these spheres, and extend our sights even further into the horizons of the outer sea."
