Helen

The capital city of Atalanta, and an almost completely underwater city. While there is a bustling city and port on the coast, most of the key parts of the city are submerged off the coast, with revolutionary magitech to keep air available and sections in secure bubbles.

Demographics

Most of Helen is comprised of Tritons and Aquatic Elves, those who would be safest in the water regardless of protections, but various other kinds of Elves and Tieflings come as a close second.

Government

Being the seat of Atalanta, Helen is officially ran by the Queen rather than a senator, but as Queen Amadeus is typically away on any other buisness but her duties, The Atalantan Representative Conglomerate typically runs the cities needs in her place.

Defences

Along with the Abjuration Wards, Helen also has an aquatic and normal guard system, each armed with devices necessary for them to fight and protect the city when called for, especially from some of the monsters attracted by the cities mana.

Industry & Trade

Deep Sea Mining makes up most of Helens major industry, along with (predictably) fishing. Following that, their biggest draw is tourism, for being the first and only underwater city in Edda.

Infrastructure

The main roads and districts of Helen are barricaded by domes comprised of a unique glass that is extremely durable, but is also enhanced by magic to resist the water pressure, and to allow a window of prevention if the glass should ever become cracked, so it can be repaired. There are also several essential filtration systems in the city, along with a great amount of greenery. There are also several districts outside of the bubbles for Aquatic dwellers and the like.

Assets

Along with having many technological and arcane minds, Helen also corners the market on Water-Mining, which digs up rare minerals and ores that can only be found compressed under the waters of Edda, such as Manganese and Cobalt.

History

Helen wasn't always the city it was now. It used to be a capital in name only albeit populated, as Paris was the place-to-be. However, as Queens and Senators wished to give it a new image, when the concept of under-sea living, and the requisite technology, was brought to the table, the greatest minds of the city worked tirelessly to make it a reality, and it has been active and thriving for almost 3 years now.

Architecture

Many of the new buildings in Helen are very modern and mechanical, designed to function normally within the filtered air domes of the underwater city.
