Earl/Jarl Matilda Muninn Alsbey (a.k.a. Earl Alsbey)

The Earl of Wind, and elder sister to the local librarian, Richard Alsbey, Matilda is a stern and methodical Earl, who earnestly wishes the best for the city and it's connected lands and does her absolute best to keep things as orderly as possible.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Matilda keeps herself healthy and relatively fit, but has never had the constitution for hard exercise, so her form is rather average. She does however move quickly and with an upright posture that lamp poles are envious of.

Body Features

There's not much remarkable about Matilda, as she has her family's average skin color, eye color, and hairstyle. She does have an odd tattoo of a stylized, open eye at the nape of her neck, but she generally keeps it well concealed in her day-to-day outfits.

Facial Features

Matilda has a slightly long face that is narrow yet rounded. Her ears are short yet pointed, a sign of her half-elven heritage, along with her golden yellow eyes, which always are lidded in an analytical stare.

Personal history

Matilda Alsbey is the eldest of four children and is the most stern out of all four. This is not due to any kind of lack in her childhood, but instead more of her personal nature, something her parents strove to foster into something healthy rather than try to remove.
Her life has been rather uninteresting, especially compared to her treasure hunting (what she would call graverobbing) ancestors, and adventuring youngest sibling, but she is fully content with the life she has lived and the successes she has obtained.
She began her political career at the age of 30, following education at the Warren School for Political Professionalism, where she was the aide to the previous Earl of Wind. At the age of 37, they stepped down, leaving the position open for Matilda to run for.
As no one in Wind was really a huge fan of politics, she didn't have strong opposition and unsurprisingly won. As the position of Earl consists of three 5-year terms, she's nearing the end of her time as Earl, but she's proud of the 15 years she has spent increasing Wind's public face and tourism efforts, and only hopes that she has set up a strong system for her successor to continue.

Sexuality

While she isn't very open about it, Matilda is Bisexual and out to those closest to her but does not have time for a relationship in this phase of her life, and at the end of the day finds the whole affair quite overrated.

Education

As the child of a well-off literary family, Matilda was able to get a good starting education at a young age. Once she graduated at 18 from the typical Magnum Opus school system, she enrolled in the Theogony Academy of Higher Learning in order to focus her knowledge on political science. Once she graduated from there at 22, she took a couple of gap years in order to work practically with her family in the local Alsbey Library in Wind, before attending the Warren School for Political Professionalism at the age of 26, graduating at the age of 30.

Employment

Following her academic career, which itself had been slightly paused in pursuit of employment at her family's library, Matilda worked for several years as the aide to the Earl of Wind, before stepping up to the position herself once they stepped down.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Matilda's greatest achievement is the increased amount of people living in Wind, and the new businesses and storefronts opening almost daily.

Failures & Embarrassments

While many wouldn't consider it a failure, the fact that she has never had a real opponent, and that there seems to be no one in Wind as interested in Politics as her is a source of aggravation for Matilda.

Intellectual Characteristics

Matilda approaches every situation and issues with cold precision and only logical paths of thinking. She isn't heartless by any means but believes that overt emotions are a private and unnecessary detail.

Motivation

Matilda's number one goal in life was to ensure that Wind became a populous and successful city, rather than the village that her family nearly had to leave for greener pastures. She isn't too sure what she'll do after her time as Earl is up, but plans to work alongside her brother's library.

While Matilda has shown all the skills required to lead as Earl of Wind, she's also quite skilled at yodeling and pottery, while she's rather loathsome at oil painting and creative writing.
