Eagon (Ea-gone)

"Land of the green"

Eagon, the land of green. Known for its beauty. But don't let the beauty fool you, the people here are feisty. Many empires tried to tame these lands. And just as many empires died trying.

Living Lands

Eagon is often called the Land of Green because of all its lush nature, but it's also known as the land of the untamed. You can wave your banners high above Eagon soil but you can never control it. As when you do it seems like the land itself is fighting back against you.
Many have speculated that the lands of Eagon are alive. There are plenty of stories of the dead coming alive, or nature turning unnaturally hostile in order to help the people of Eagon defend against invaders who wish ill upon these lands. Although these cases are rare, they happen nonetheless.   Nobody is certain why these things happen in Eagon. But ancient Eagon tales tell of a shamans of old worshipping nature itself. Its said that their souls became entwined with the environment, which they called the Atiel. Sadly time has washed away the certainty of these stories.
Mark of the Atiel: The Essence from people that are born or who's family originate from Eagon always feels different. It seems to serve no purpose but it's somehow connected to Eagon itself.

Before the Demon Invasion

Like much of the history of Ecquamas before The Blood Wars not much is known about how Eagon looked before the brutal conflict. But it has always been a hot-bed of rebellions and revolutions. The Old Gods could never fully put these lands under their thumb. And many gods couldn't be bothered with Eagon, leaving it to those brutal enough to get it under control.

During the Demon Invasion

Eagon like much of Ecquamas stood with the Old Gods until the end of The Red Crusade. The already unhappy people of Eagon only got more enraged when the Gods started to draft their people into the brutal wars. And the once small rebellions only started to grow in size. Too busy with the Demons the Gods had to ignore these revolutionaries. A terrible mistake as many of these rebels ended up joining the demonic armies.
And it wasn't long before Eagon had embraced the Demons as their new overlords. Which didn't turn out too well when the infighting started. The world was lit on fire, but the fires of Eagon burned brighter. No matter how hard the Demons tried nobody could get these fiesty people under control. Each death was another reason for them to keep fighting.           It was only a matter of time before these incresingly desperate people were swooned into joining the ranks of Scalith and Vaas-Laumi. They offered these exhausted people some much needed hope.

After the Demon Invasion

Most people didn't have any trouble siding with the Demons, even after The Blood Wars. And because of their acceptance they didn't face any trouble entering the new age of Demons. Thus allowing many of the current people to live peacefully. And compared to the rest of Ecquamas, Eagon fairs quite well.

Landscape

Eagon sits in a temperate climate. Having a lot of mountain, forests and grasslands. Encouraging a more agricultural life-style amongst the people there. Large cities are quite common in these lands and the infrastructure of the old empires still remains, which many people rely on to this day.   Concerning the wildlife Eagon too isn't safe from the many Monstrosities the demons brought along. Though because of the heavy resistance and renewed attempts to clear these lands of monster they are on the decline. And most have evolved to be a part of the local wildlife. So coming across a monster isn't uncommon but it isn't the biggest concern in the minds of the people.
