High King Andrain (a.k.a. Forgeheart)
In dwarven culture many traits are required to make a great and admirable ruler and it can be argued that High King Andrain Forgeheart possesses all of them and more. Besides the pragmatic markers of great leadership Andrain is set to have a very air of regalness that instantly identifies him as a king even if he is encountered far away from his throne or any of his regalia.
Indeed, no folk is as eager as the Dwarves to forego protocols and step into armour and worker's gear instead of finery and robes, and High King Andrain is no different. Yet, even if he tries, he has a hard time shaking his kingly aura. Although, it gives him an edge when it comes to command the attention and respect of his subjects and he is also known to be able to hold his own and keep up among the greatest empresses and emperors in Echora.
The dwarven High King enjoys the reputation of being a capable and fair ruler, who cares as much about the dwarves beyond the slopes of his own mountain than anyone inside his kingdom.
Particularly in terms of their looks, the line of the kings of Dol Cadarn has always had a distinct nature about them with their icy blue eyes and full raven black manes. Andrain wears his hair in a contemporary unbraided fashion, adding braids and bindings only for necessary occasions like physical exertion. On the other hand, he prefers his facial hair, a customary long beard and mustache, in tight unmoving braids of four or more rows depending on the occasion, adding more and finer braids as he will be receiving more important guests.
Usually dressed in a dense dark, almost black, fur coat lined with the rare fur made from a dark Morcannaid Mountain Lion's coat, he is never seen wandering the halls of his stronghold in less than silver-capped boots reinforced with the strongest metals Dol Cadarn has to offer.
All in all, High King Andrain Forgeheart presents a strong and stoic image at all times that compliments his personality and ruling style and guarantees him the unwavering loyalty among his folk. And none of this has yet mentioned the fierce image he presents in battle armed with his shining warhammer and mounted atop the strongest breed of battle-rams in all dwarven kingdoms.
With 247 years of age the High King of Dwarves is relatively young compared to when his father bore the High Dwarven Crown. Even though it is not required for dwarven kings, he is married to Queen Frolís and has one son whom he personally trains and educates in all political and other matters as is the custom in Dol Cadarn.
