Trel

A healthy trel that is well fed, which is known by observing the brightness of their joints.

Introduction:

The trel are a humanoid species native to Voliot. They are unique in being the only known example of sentient silicon-based life in the Founder Galaxy . While their molten temperatures and drastically different biological needs were difficult to accommodate when the trel joined the Illithid-Dilug Intergalactic Empire of New Rocheron over 900,000 years ago, hundreds of thousands of years of cooperation has led to the species being able to adapt to normal living conditions nearly perfectly.   Scientific Name: Fusilis novus

Appearance:

The trel are humanoid, with an average height of just under 6 feet. They are covered in a chiton-like material, which is both sturdy and flexible. They possess long pointy ears on the sides of their heads. The heads of the trel bear a similarity to the skulls of species like Humans and las. At their joints and other select parts of their bodies, a bright orange glow can be observed. This is caused by the internal temperature of the trel, which is on average 300 degrees Celsius. The high internal temperature of the trel is related to their metabolism. Instead of eating normal food, trel consume molten materials, usually molten metals and rocks. Their heat-resistant digestive system absorbs the heat given off by the material, allowing the trel to absorb energy at a very efficient rate. Their ability to do this also gives the trel a natural resistance to heat. The trel are a hermaphroditic species, meaning that all trel have male and female reproductive systems. Because of this, all trel look nearly identical. They also have no external genitalia or secondary sex characteristics, allowing trel to not wear clothes without judgement from other species. For those who do decide to wear clothes, they must wear special clothes designed to withstand their high body temperature.

Lifestyle:

Traditionally, the trel normally live in small colonies of around 20 people. As one of the oldest imperial species, the trel's culture has long since been assimilated into galactic culture and the vast majority of trel are found living in urban environments with any assortment of people.

Playing A Trel:

As a person with free will, your character can act and think in any way you want them to. If you want them to follow the norm for a trel, take the following into consideration:   -Despite being one of the oldest imperial species, the incredibly alien biology of the trel still proves to be unique today. Some technology designed to work for most organic species may not be compatible with trel. The trel have adapted by manufacturing most of their unique items. For clothing and other personal items, most trel go to their homeworld to obtain them.   -Being hermaphrodites, trel have a hard time understanding gender roles and other similar concepts.
-In the absence of a bio printer, your diet is almost impossible to provide for outside of trel households. Many trel store caches of food in cases of emergency.
