History of Conflict Between the Empire and the UFH

Conflicts as Enemies:

The Illithid-Dilug Intergalactic Empire of New Rocheron and the United Federation of Humanity have a long history with each other, a history filled with conflict. The following list is the most notable conflicts between the super powers:   The War of Freedom: The UFH was founded from conflict with the Empire, and the first humans successfully won their independence and founded the federation.   The Attempted Reclamation: Centuries after the UFH won their freedom, the Empire attempted to reclaim the federal systems. While they were initially winning, the Empire surrendered seemingly randomly, allowing the federation to continue existing. The reason is currently unknown to the public.   The Siege of Eternity: A plane-shift drive malfunction resulted in a UFH passenger ship being stranded near the supermassive black hole Eternity. The UFH attempted a rescue, but the Empire resisted, citing the hazardous environment. In a controversial move, a federal ship opened fire on imperial forces near the core, leading to a five-month conflict. The empire emerged victorious, but agreed to allow limited access to Eternity in the future. Tragically, everyone onboard of the passenger ship perished from the intense radiation given off by eternity.   The 17th Galactic War:

Conflicts as Allies:

Despite their history of conflict, the Empire and the UFH have spent most of their history as allies. The following list is the most notable conflicts that the two super powers were allied in:   The UFH Civil War:   The 134th Machine Crisis:   The War of the Bleeding Sky: Possibly the most infamous war in history, the Formatide attempted to invade several planets near their own in order to found an interstellar power. Because the formatide infected their victims with their own kind and took over their bodies while they were still alive, nearly every power in the galaxy banded together to stop the formatide. After three months of conflict and millions trapped in agony as hosts, the formatide surrendered.   The Scourge Invasion (Ongoing):
