Session 6: Pickled Potatoes

Morning (10:00 AM)
The party continued exploring Jzadirune. They fight some were-rats and a giant spider. They harvest a large quantity of paralyzing venom from the spider. And they watch an illusory performance in the gnomish theater. They explore several more rooms and loot a few magic items. In an empty armory, they find Starbrow, the rat familiar belonging to Keygan Ghelve. Before they can rescue him, they convince Tastir the Mimic to cooperate, promising a feast of pickled potatoes (and a relocation to the world above). Tastir shares what he knows about the dungeon and the kidnappers: the were-rats are led by a "fishy fellow" named Yuathyb and they are in league with the warforged (led by Captain Kazmojen). The warforged hold a slave auction monthly. For now, Tastir will stay in Ghelve's Locks.Early Afternoon (1:00 PM)
The party updates Sir Sercyl and the Church of the Silver Flame on their mission and what they've learned. Acting High Cleric Jenya Urikas says Sarcem Delasharn (Cauldron's actual High Cleric, her boss) miiight be able to cast Speak with Dead to help the party interrogate warforged corpses, but he's out of town for an unknown amount of time... With Sir Sercyl to guard the top of the elevator, the party ventures back into the dungeon, this time heading straight to the Malachite Fortress beneath Jzadirune...Late Afternoon (3:00 PM)
Behind the elevator maintenance panel, they flip a lever to override the elevator mechanism, disabling it. The entry hall is decorated with a massive spiky stone sculpture (stolen abstract art?). In the next room, with doors leading to the bridge to the underdark and a large statue of a dwarf, they battle four warforged guards. They take a prisoner and interrogate him. They learn that the warforged are a mercenary company calling themselves the Blue Fists. Their leader, Captain Kazmojen, is preparing to hold an auction now.Rewards Granted
