Downtime Activities
in Game RulesAll Downtime rolls MUST be made on the Discord under the #downtime-activity-rolls channel with a declaration of the activity you wish to perform.
East Marches provides a number of ways for your character to spend their free time in between adventures!
For each in-game week a player may roll a Downtime Activity Roll to generate either Gold or Crafting Points (CP). Time travels twice as fast in the East Marches, so players make 2 rolls for every 1 real world week.
A basic Downtime Activity Roll appears as such: !r 1d20+Ability Modifier+Kit or Tool Proficiency Activity Declaration
ie: !r 1d20+4+4 Crafting a longsword with Smith's Tools This result is the amount of Crafting Points or Gold earned that week. A Natural 1 results in Total Failure and no CP or Gold is made that week. Rolls are meant to represent the end of the week, therefore any CP or Gold generated in this way is instantly accessible to the character. As soon as you make your roll, you can apply those Crafting Points to complete an item at that time.
Ability Modifier refers only to STR, DEX, CON, WIS, INT, or CHA, not Skills.
Proficiency may only be applied if your character is proficient with a Kit or Tool that is applicable to the activity being performed
Various Structures may apply Proficiency Bonuses to your Downtime Activity Rolls
Staff members reserve the right to invalidate rolls we feel aren't in line with the activity at our discretion...but it's unlikely we'll step in, unless its egregious. So don't be shy :)
If you'd like to do both of your rolls with 1 input, you can use our dice bot's multiroll command. To do this you would type !rr instead of !r followed by the number of times you'd like the roll to be rolled.
Example: !rr 2 d20+6
The above example will roll d20+6 twice and give you the total of both rolls. If making your rolls with this command, be sure to declare your activity before you roll as it does not allow for inline comments. See the articles below for all the different ways to use Crafting Points!
