The Big-Horn Papa
Cinakath is a god of corruption and hedonism. His followers seek pleasure and comfort for themselves above all else. Cinakath's symbols are many, but all are innuendoes; among the most common are the spear and chain-whip, candle (often held up by a brothel's matron as a signal), and the pipe (representing drug dens). Cinakath himself is often represented as a baphomet, with two spiraling horns and massive antlers, wielding his favored spear and chain-whip.
Followers of Cinakath are often referred to as
sinners, a term used both derisively and affectionately, as it plays on the first syllable of his name. His centers of worship are simply known as
houses, with their meaning implied by the intonation with which the term is spoken. Those outside his faith often instead use the term
den. Cinakath's houses tend to be centers of sex, drug use, and other indulgences.
Cinakath's holy text is nominally the
Mad Word. It is debated whether there is any true meaning to this text, or whether it is merely a mockery of texts such as the
Sacred Geometry of
Orovas. Cinakath's followers rarely bother themselves much with the Word, though rumors abound about those who have gone insane attempting to find wisdom in its words. Some believe Cinakath has had affairs with every deity at least once.
Fraeyr is among his favorite consorts, and it is said that she provided her consent to his breeding with the beasts of Eashavar, which resulted in the cursed forms of
Idolax and
Zakrul when they were born to his affairs with
Karnathra and
Maer. Cinakath is a close companion to
El'yr and a staunch rival of
Merak.
