Vampire Blood

Utility

As vampire blood is relatively rare, it is generally only used in extreme circumstances where surgery just won't cut it. However, there are some who buy it in bulk and use it for simpler procedures. The major issue with vampire blood is its scarcity, and there is a market for kidnapping vampires and draining them of their blood to sell for a mighty profit.
Access & Availability
Doc has a hard time keeping a lid on much of anything really, and it wasn't long before news of his discovery leaked to the outside world. The Free West is accepting of vampires as a general rule, and many vampires have been willing to openly sell their own blood for a hefty price.
Complexity
It's really quite simple: draw the blood, inject the blood. Vampire blood seems to last longer in storage than regular human blood as well, so vampire blood banks are able to stock up on the stuff in greater quantities than human ones.
Discovery
Discovered (or possibly rediscovered. There are no records of it being used in the past, but it is possible) by Doc
in late 240 PA when he used his own blood experimentally on his bloodbag slave, known only as Dickless. It didn't restore the man's genitalia, but it healed the needle insertion site, where Doc draws blood to drink later, on his arm. Doc had actually been experimenting with the varying effects of blood magic on the human body and wondered what would happen to a human injected with vampire blood who wasn't in a transformation-ready state. Doc was delighted by this discovery and soon began using the blood to drastically speed up the healing process of his patients. The only people it doesn't seem to work on are other vampires.
