A Study of the Infernal Crusade

Xantanas is one of the Demonlords of Rancor, ruler of the Third Layer of Hell and the Lady of Sin. Often taking the pale appearance of a valkyrie, nothing is known of her before her corruption by The Shadow, and then ascension during The Godswar. She served Belegor during his tenure as King of Hell, and only reluctantly switched sides after his fall, swearing allegiance to Belros Azul as her sovereign.

During the Infernal Crusade Xantanas would join Belros and Baphomet in the invasion of Delnakar, or the Shadow Realm. They were able to conquer the entire realm in less than a half century, due in no small part to Xantanas' mass corruption of the vampiric kingdoms of that realm. Belros left Delnakar under the stewardship of the Lady of Sin for the duration of the conflict, leaving to reinforce the invasion of Earedar with Baphomet. Since the end of the Crusade it has been Xantanas' most fervent wish to leave behind the confines of Rancor and return to the Shadow Realm and resume her rule there, where the now corrupted denizens of that realm eagerly await her return.

Circle of Shadows- Most prominent within the Felidar Imperium, Yvren and other places where the Shadow holds sway, the Circle of Shadows is comprised of a cabal of warlocks, clerics, priests and other mages who draw upon the Shadow for their power. Fueled by raw ambition, members of the Circle are driven to accumulate as much power as possible, often at the expense of others, including their own members. They are often cruel and unforgiving, and can be found acting as priests amongst thsoe regions controlled by the forces of darkness. They venerate Belros Azul above all others as the pinnacle of their ideals.
The Devoted- The Devoted are a group of demons, warlocks and other figures who worship Xantanas, Lady of Sin. Their mission is to enable their mistress to spread her vile reach as much as possible through vice and sin, corrupting their victims and pulling them under her control. They attempt to lure their victims into the most vile actions possible, the more unimaginable the act, and the more virtuous the figure, the more appeased their mistress will be.
