The Crown of the Grey

The Crown of Grey is perhaps the most famous part of the The Sickle of Life. Approximately 4 descriptions of it exist (outside of the Sickle of Life), and none of them perfectly align. The Crown of Grey is universally said to be a towering structure of some sort, stretching high and wide, larger than any buildings in Kaiyocea  or Aerava . It is said to be vaguely resembling of a crown or claws, and stretches out from the Meal of Life. However this is where the similarities end.
Account 1 is from an ancient source, a Terr'Ainan cartographer of some sort. In his notes, he states that the Crown of Grey is a "Quite large, less wide then Hon-shu of Xian, yet still far more massive than most palaces. Composed of a grey material, perhaps concrete or slate, it vaguely resembles a building, a sentiment proven by my guide's confirmation. They refused to go into further detail about the usage."

Account 2 is from an elder from the Southwest Shoals, who attempted to write his tales of the Sickle before his untimely death midway through his transcriptions. He describes the Crown as a pale brown, "Like a staghorn coral". He states that it was as deep as wide, a sentiment not expressed by any other source, and emitted a faint sense of danger and foreboding, even at a distance.
Account 3 is difficult to find on account of the author hiding most of her works. She states that she "Fears the knowledge unmeaningfully given" in the margin of her original copy. She describes the crown as a slick and dark as obsidian collection of curved spires. Formed into a vague 180 degree arc, she briefly mentions a ship sailing into the arc, after which her writings are obscured by mad scribbles and the repeating of the word "forget". The author's fate is unknown, though the book was written 10 years ago.
Account 4 is a slightly more cheerful account from "Rooks Guide to the Realms". Rook briefly goes over his time in the Sickle, although it is much less in depth than most of his other writings. His retelling states the following. "The Crown was a sight to behold, for sure. Massive, the largest structure I'd ever seen, and I've seen Hon-shu. It was a pale yellow - brown, tipped in bronzish metals of some sort. It looked incredibly natural, and as we sailed by, I swore it... it... was natural. There was no other way." (Note - in the original manuscript, the word "breathed" can barely be made out.)
