The Hand

When it comes to matters of "acquisition" and burglary very few groups are as trusted or as reliable as The Hand. If it's changing the numbers, acquiring that "hard to get" magic item, or an untimely hardship for a local noble or merchant guild you can rest assured that The Hand will deliver.

Structure

All orders from the Master Hand are absolute but tentatively they receive orders from leadership positions usually from one of the guild heads or are allowed to make decisions of their own accord if they are profitable and do not put the organization at risk.

Culture

They are the thieves and brokers of The Black Hand. Thievery, blackmail, money laundering, and "book keeping" compile the skills of these members and they are highly refined at their skills and typically enjoy their jobs.
As a ritualistic part of membership you are either branded or tattooed with the imprint of a dark outstretched palm usually on an inconspicuous place of your choosing

Public Agenda

The law has a mild distain for members of The Hand but Merchant and Business guilds absolutely despise them for making running functional business a nightmare either having to hire protection or kowtowing to them to cut their loses.

History

The Hand are traditionally the oldest side to The Black Hand as the organization was originally founded on thievery as opposed to assassination but the Master Hand dictated the need a for the split of the two groups around 300 years ago so by technicality they are just as new as the Red Gloved Men. Since the split the health of the guild has improved and The Hand have proven to be useful and grown more powerful since they were allowed to focus on one particular set of skill and not as worried about getting killed on the job when all they want to do is handle money.
