Crown of the Realms
The Crown of Terima is the Regent and Emperor of the Teriman Realms, and the leader of the Teriman Dynasty.
The title was created by Crown Adayr I upon the end of the First Orc Wars and the Unification of the Realms. It has remained within the Teriman Dynasty lineage ever since.
The Dragons of the Crown chose Adayr to rid the Blue Plains of The Enemy, and to drive them back beyond the Goliath Mountains.
It is said that Adayr was travelling in small company when attacked by a roving band of Orcs. Adayr defended the other travellers despite great danger. Unbeknownst, one of the company was a Dragon in human form.
Having seen the worthiness of Adayr, the Dragon summoned their kin. They all as one bowed their heads to Adayr, and granted the powers required to bring together the disparate people and overcome The Enemy.
Appointment
The heir to the current Crown is a matter of secrecy, known only to the close advisors of the Crown and contained within their Testament of Passing. It is normally a child of the Crown, although other members of the Crown family have on occasion been chosen.
The heir ascends to the position by Investiture of the Crown which is performed privately as soon as possible after the passing of the Crown. A public coronation is held within a year, where the ceremony is repeated with full traditional regalia.
