The Laughing Queen of the Dead

Rise, the righteous dead!
Vengeance is ours,
Our graves are empty,
And we will fill them with our foes!
My flesh is rent,
My blood hath run dry,
My bones are broken,
My grave beckons,
But my soul burns.

Before the invasion, Rin was a minor god of the underworld and queen of the dead. Her duty was to shepherd the souls of the deceased to her kingdom and keep them there. Despite the gravity of the task, Rin never rose above minor godhood and was considered little more than a prison warden to the scraps that other gods did not want. Her clergy was small and worship limited, with most mortals chosing to dedicate the funeral of their deceased to other, more powerful gods. Shunned and forced to spend her time in the cold, dark underworld with imprisoned souls, she became a cold and grim figure.

Now, things are different. Not only is Rin one of a handful of the surviving divinities, but it is by her hand alone that the world survived the initial onslaught. When nuclear fire scourged the world and xenos weapon of unfathomable power blasted gods to atoms, Rin watched from her realm of the dead. Her prison swelled with millions of dead, killed by choking gas, trench warfare, and abominations from beyond the stars, and she decided that enough was enough.   Rin threw open the gates of the underworld and marched to war with the dead behind her. Countless beyond measure, Rin's Righteous Dead first stopped the xenos invasion with the sheer press of number. Even now, the Dead defend the living at every front of the world war and the Queen of the Dead has changed from a figure of minor power to perhaps the most important deity still alive.

To this day, the Underworld remain abandon. Only adventurers looking to loot grave-goods or the occasional lost soul brave it.

And Rin has changed. Free from the shackles of her ancient duty, she has taken to the battlefield with delight and became the Laughing Queen. The roar of battle, the chromatic shine of bleeding xenos vessels, the sense of a greater purpose has transformed the former goddess of the dead into a colorful, charismatic warlord. Her name is praised across the world and every slain xenos adds to her glory.   And she's loving every minute of it.

Accolades Of The Dead
Rin grant boons to those who perform great acts of war against the xenos of invaders. Should a party succeed in something suitably grand, such as bringing down a War-Walker, stopping an xenos ploy, or being responsible for victory in a large battle, they may roll on the Divine Gifts table for Rin.

How can your ideas be so unique all the time? This is one of a kind! You want nukes? You have them. You want dead gods. Sure, why not? You want ascended gods? Here, take Rin! You want a twist? Here you go: the dead are the ones defending the living. This way of thinking is so out of the box! And I love this, Q!

Aw, thank you so much :D   I like mixing things up, and sometimes asking ridiculous questions leads to run, silly answers. Like, what happens if you detonate a nuclear bomb in the heart of hell? >:D
