Giants
The legends differ somewhat on who created whom and in what order, but they all agree that Primus created the Primordials and the in turn created the giants. In their hay day the giants were, as the name suggests, gigantic, rivaling full grown dragons in size and power. They roamed all three continents and raised mammoths and rocs as their livestock and pets.
As the giants grew in size and the Elder Dragons began hatching offspring the two races began to compete for territory and resources. Small, localized squabbles became increasingly more frequent and violent. The Record does not contain an account of how or when the two sides finally allied against one another, but when they did it sparked the Giant War, the largest conflict in history in every sense of the word.
The Giant War was long, bloody, and fruitless, a stalemate for years that only wrought death and destruction. Both sides enlisted the help of what they referred to as the "lesser races" to fight for them. Humans, dwarves, elves, goblinkin, and beastfolk all took part in numerous battles. At some point the dragons created the drahkai in an attempt to gain an edge in the conflict. Armed with this new, powerful, martial force the dragons pressed the giants onto the back foot. The giants responded by crafting beithirs, supposedly from the bodies of slain dragons animated with Tempest's own lightning. The new beasts cut a swathe through the draconic forces, but it proved to be too little, too late.
In a decisive battle in the Miridian Mountains that shook the very foundations of the world the Eldar Dragons fought together as one to slay the last holdouts of giant kind. It is said the giants' blood ran like rivers and flowed out of the mountains in crimson waterfalls. Thus ended the First Age of this world, the Age of Giants.
It has been proposed that the colossal elemental entities aimlessly roaming the wilderness, dubbed "hulks," are the restless souls of the giants. If this is in face true, it is unclear if they linger seeking revenge upon their killers or if they are simply lost, unable to navigate back to Aurora's light on their own. Some even believe that cleansed hulks become angels, who will in turn try to guide others of their kin to the light as well.
