General Summary

After making their escape from the deal with the gnolls the heroes are forced to flee. Clutching Wishart's Palimpsest the party is chased by several hyenas, mounted gnolls and a sinister leucrotta. Although they are able to eventually outdistance the pack it is not without incident and several horses are wounded and one, Di, is almost abandoned as she becomes confused by the magic of the gnoll shaman. Back in the safety of the World’s Rest Healing Centre the party confer with Andro Ashid. It seems all is still not right with him and he rants about looking beneath the surface of the document. Which ends up proving valuable advice as the document seems, at first, to be a potion recipe. Through use of Marble's forgery tools it is revealed that there is a ritual hidden beneath. This four-part ritual promises to summon the spirit of Atam Wishart and reveal the location of the Staff of the Woodlands, a vital artifact for ridding the Llangoed Forest of the spiders and freeing Darknook from its danger.
