General Summary

After finally defeating the roper, and with Alok Ravaralei and Badalona Ailendogs still exhausted the party press on deeper into the cave. After discovering rust monster tracks in one direction the only option is to follow the river. So Cookie is sent forth as a scout with Mehmen Ashid and soon they find themselves meeting a strange myconid that silently beckons them forwards. As they move into a huge, vaulted cavern they soon find other myconids - all intent on beckoning them onwards. As the others follow in their wake the myconids soon lead the party into the presence of a huge deep dragon. This is surely the wurm mentioned in the poem in the Sternfire Crypt beneath Allgringthveit. The conversation with the dragon doesn't begin well and the beast seems convinced that the Five Fingers wish to steal from it. When honesty prevails and the quest to fulfill the rituals of Wishart's Palimpsest is revealed the dragon's ire is quenched. He has something he wishes the party to do. There is a place, beyond the end of the dragon's lair where he once hunted. The arrival of Atam Wishart's ghost several hundred years ago has deprived him of access to these hunting grounds. By revealing the location of this spot the dragon hopes that the party can remove Wishart's ghost and secure plentiful hunting for the dragon once more. As the party step beyondf the dragon's cave they find themselves transported to a strange primordial jungle valley located beneath the earth. Light seems to filter into the dense jungle from somewhere and huge creatures can be seen and heard amongst the dense foliage. The dragon and the party both believe that somewhere within the valley is the geode that will be the site of the Earth ritual.
