Avon

Avon is one of Dorwine's most northern cities and sits, quite isolated, on the coast. Only the dwarven villages of Variebekkr and Taford sit further north.   The people of Avon are largely fisher folk or farmers and famed for their hardiness. There is a shrine to Ellah, the Goddess of Plants in Avon. Many of the locals are devout worshippers of the goddess.

Industry & Trade

Avon has a healthy economy which is largely based on fishing

History

The religion of Ellah is widely practised in Avon because of a historical quirk that saw many of the founding townspeople being devoted followers of the goddess. So, despite the town's closeness to the sea and reliance on fishing, it is Ellah who has many worshippers here.

Tourism

Avon is known for its starchy pastries - often filled with smoked fish. But it gets few tourists because of its colder climate and its proximity to the wastes of the Plain of Skulls which means that direct travel to Avon is difficult and travellers must leave The Hedge Road to travel along the coast from Deehill or pass through Icewood Vale.
