Free Domhan (free dom-ahn)

Free Domhan is not a nation per say, and instead refers to the territory that is held by the Domhan Reformation Army. Their capital is more of a large encampment, which they call Vigor.

Government

Recently, the Free Domhan government has begun to take on a more solid form than in its earlier days. Since the nation was formed with the intent to wage war and declare independence, their hierarchy resembles a pyramid, much like a traditional army's organisation.   Aramach stands at the top of said hierarchical structure; as the leader of the Domhan Reformation Army, he calls out all the shots, and has the final say in all governmental matters. Below him are his five, hand-picked advisors, who call themselves the Five Heretics. The Five each have an area of expertise: logistics, medical, police, navy, and ground army. Below the Five are their many lieutenants, who themselves carry out the Five's order to the soldiers of the Reformation Army.   Each branch's role is well defined; the problem lies in the composition of the Army. Since the Reformation Army is composed of rebel, many are free-thinkers, making the actual execution of said orders sometimes difficult. Nonetheless, the Army knows they fight for the same goal, and their guerilla operations often turn out perfectly, thanks to a combination of the Army's fighting spirit and Aramach's tactical genius.   All decisions that the Free Domhan government makes are made with one goal in mind: the subjugation of all Veikas. Because it was so much "looser" at the start of the rebellion, the recent tightening of rules has left some rebels feeling chaffed and angry. Their collective will holds for the time being, but some question for how long that will last.

Culture

The culture of Free Domhan is somewhat confused. It is a very recent nation, especially compared to every other country on Domhan; and it is composed of malcontents and rebels from other nations, and they bought their own traditions and culture along with them.   So far, a solidified culture has failed to emerge from Free Domhan. Certainly, they all agree in their hatred of the Veikas, but this is where the similarities and shared experiences end for many of the Reformation Army soldiers. Tensions have risen up because of this lack of shared culture; most incidents are swiftly resolved, either by the military police or by the call for a new guerilla operation.   As a result of this, people from the Reformation Army do not have an uniform. Luckily, smiths and tailors are there to help repair their armor and clothes, but Aramach has opted to not give his rebels a distinctive piece of clothing. A strange mix of clothing styles from different countries has started to show up because of this fact.   The day-to-day life of a member of the Reformation Army looks similar to the one that one may expect from any other soldier, except their structure is more loose. Soldiers tend to have a lot of free time between operations, which they use for mending their wounds, partaking in their hobbies such as art or writing, helping with the agriculture, or hunting for food.

Agriculture and Cuisine

Agriculture is mostly a communal affair, undertaken either by farmers who have left their countries or those who believe they have skills in it. Thanks to the Druidic magic and knowledge of some of the Children of Domhan who have rebelled, the Army has managed to sustain itself thus far. This is also aided by those who go to hunt in the country, sometimes taking risks by going beyond the frontline of the war. And, of course, they steal plenty of supplies from their enemies, and use it for themselves.   While there have been cultural problems because of the lack of true common experience between the people, the Free Domhan cuisine may very well be the start of a cultural bridge between the rebels. Since many cultures are represented in the Reformation Army, they have brought their cuisine along with them - and, more importantly, have started to mix it with that of others. The nascent fusion cuisine culture of the Army is positively booming, and many interesting culinary experiences can be obtained there.

Biome

Free Domhan, as it was originally a part of the Junction, is similar to it in biome. However, the borders of this country are unclear, and the war has left its southern borders scarred and unusable.

Relation with other countries

In general, because of Aramach's belief that the Veikas are not beneficial to the well-being of Domhan, the nation of Free Domhan is hostile to every other nation. However, even they know that they cannot wage a war on every front.   Welmenni: The Domhan Reformation Army believes that Rafinova's decadence is one of the most damning pieces of evidence they have regarding the uselessness of the Veikas. Nonetheless, Welmenni's technology is powerful, and so they must respect it. No trade route has been established between the two nations, and their geographical position is not conducive to sabotaging the trade with other nations. However, Aramach knows that if they are to win their war, they will need Rafinova's tech somehow. He is currently looking for solutions.   The Junction: Aramach is one of the Joined, and knows full well what living under Veikas is like. His hatred (and, by proxy, that of the Reformation Army) seems focused on Zakon and Trokair first and foremost. Though their war is young, the Reformation Army is convinced that if they can take the eastern half of the Junction from the Twins, their advance could no longer be stopped. Nonetheless, the First War for Domhan's Liberation is currently at a standstill, though Aramach is currently looking at new solutions to make sure the line advances.   Holy Dragon Empire: Aramach believes that, if even a single dragon could be convinced to join their cause, they could flip the entire course of their war. He has sent multiple ambassadors and diplomats to the Empire, but so far, he has been unsuccessful - if his envoys even arrived at all, for they must cross nearly the entirety of the Junction to make it to the Empire.   Vengeance: Vengeance, and the Children of Domhan, are a challenge for Aramach and his army. Of course, they share a common enemy in the Junction, but Rastlin is a furious storm, and Aramach believes that predicting his movements is foolish at best. Instead, he hopes that Vengeance will distract the Junction enough that they are forced to redirect their troops southwards, and therefore allow the Reformation Army to advance. Perhaps some enticing from Aramach can arrange that…   Gestrini: As far as Aramach is concerned, the gifts of Meloch are poisonous at best. He is content to rely only on his own healers, not on the Gest, in order to sustain his troops. While he could technically reach the island with ships, Aramach does not desire to poke the bear, at least for now. The island of Gestrini would be strategically important to the conquest of the Junction, but not so much that Aramach is willing to risk it all to obtain it. As long as Meloch is happy to stay neutral, then Aramach is happy to save her for last.
