Vengeance

Vengeance is so named for a reason. The Children of Domhan, led by Rastlin, have dedicated their lives to avenging the damage that countless wars have inflicted upon these lands. The irony of this modus operandi causing even MORE damage to the land is not lost on Rastlin, but he believes that it is a better alternative to letting the Veikas run rampant. The land of Vengeance itself is rich in plant life and various beasts, and even the most innocuous flower can hold a deadly secret for those who would seek to pluck it. Their capital is called Ygg, and stands in the heart of a massive tree (which bears the same name).

Government

Rastlin represents the will of nature itself, and nature is the ruler of the land of Vengeance. A form of government exists, but it is quite loose, as the people live by the rules of nature. The Children of Domhan live in small, hunter-gatherer tribes, even in Ygg. They live off the land, in respect of it - some would say in sync with it. The land is fertile beyond belief, and Rastlin's control over the weather ensures that it stays that way - therefore, there has been no need for the Children to form larger cities, or villages, and Rastlin is content to let them live without the control of an overarching government.   On the other hand, Rastlin still incites his Children to war, especially against Welmenni, and Rastlin also talks with the beasts and the trees, who become enraged at the enemies of Vengeance as well. Rastlin could technically command them to do so, but he prefers to kindle their anger like fire; in that way, they themselves choose to fight.

Culture

The Children of Domhan live in hunter-gatherer tribes, and usually stick with their families for life - or lives. Indeed, the families of Vengeance persist over many reincarnations. Because the Children live in small tribes, rivalries and conflicts often arise between them. These conflicts are not as violent as they are in the Holy Dragon Empire, and often, especially if Rastlin calls upon his children to fight, they can be put on hold. The needs of the many before the needs of the few.   In the end, the culture of the Children of Domhan is a simple one. It is a life spent with their kin, and with nature; whether that be the fauna or the flora. They worship Rastlin for his bounty, and wish for good weather; they protect themselves against the elements when he is wrathful, and rebuild once his anger is abated.   Since the Children of Domhan live in harmony with nature, their clothes reflect that fact. Leathers and plant-based clothes are predominant, as well as the use of flowers and fruits as a kind of "jewelry". Some weave their clothing to match their body.   The daily life of a Child of Domhan is quite simple. They answer the needs of their tribe, whether than be in agriculture, hunting, in fighting against a rival tribe, or in whatever else they may require. The tribe takes precedence over the self, and only once the needs of the many are met can they begin to care for their own needs.

Agriculture and Cuisine

The land of Vengeance is bountiful, and with Rastlin's oversight, it never truly lacks for anything. With the Children of Domhan fully understanding that they must respect nature in order to extract its bounty, agriculture is actually not really something that they do. They prefer to hunt for meat and gather fruits and vegetables from nature itself, refusing to toil the soil and harm it. Nonetheless, they understand the principles of giving back to nature, and often plant and water seeds wherever they go.   Their cuisine is as simple as their lifestyles, favouring hearty stews, salads, and various uses of game meat. They often eat just enough to fill their daily needs, and no more than that. Some believe that the Children of Domhan don't even need such sustenance, and can photosynthesize like plants. They are wrong, of course - but the Children find the rumor amusing, and perpetuate it wherever they go.

Biome

Vengeance is covered by a tropical rainforest that Rastlin maintains himself; it is full of strange plants and massive animals that can only sustain themselves in the rich environment of the country. Rastlin is not shy about using this biome to confuse, confound, and kill intruders upon his land.

Uniqueness

In Vengeance, the influence of Rastlin is felt all over the land. Trees grow incredibly large, hosting whole ecosystems into themselves. The largest tree of them all is Ygg.   Though the Children of Domhan don't divine the country in regions, two landmarks are often noted by them: Scar-of-War and Lake-of-Paradise.

Relation with other countries

True to its name, Vengeance has effectively no allies, and with Rastlin's newfound zealotry to follow Ako's will, it seems that the only thing holding them back are the opponents in their way.   Free Domhan: In a way, Vengeance is grateful towards Free Domhan for their timely attack on the Junction. This has allowed Rastlin to realise his plans. On the other hand, they have no intention of offering peace to the Reformation Army, nevermind an alliance. Once the Eastern Advance has gone far enough, they fully intend to crush the rebels once and for all, and focus their attention on the rest of the Vast.   Welmenni: If there's one thing Rastlin and the Children hate, it's the reckless destruction of nature. Welmenni and its careless mining practices have attracted the god of nature's wrath, and they've been at war for quite a long time. Unfortunately for the Children, Welmenni's technology is quick to adapt to tactical changes on Vengeance's parts, and anti-air and anti-sea defenses have kept them at bay for years. Rastlin would give almost anything for an edge over Rafinova - anything that could cause the stalemate to break.   The Junction: Rastlin wasn't always so hostile to the Junction and their tactics. For hundreds of years, the two nations entertained good relations. Over time, however, Rastlin became more and more bitter, and the harsh realisation that he could not do Ako's will without turning against his former allies soon dawned upon him. The two nations have been at war ever since, Rastlin favouring blitz tactics that don't allow the Twins to muster a force quickly enough to respond.   Holy Dragon Empire: Rastlin and Nyoka were once good friends, but the moment that she went to sleep, the god of nature lost interest in the dragons and their petty wars. He witnesses the destruction and modification of their land with great anger, but Welmenni is in the way of a full-scale assault on the Empire. Some say that Rastlin's former friendship with the Dragon Empress keeps him from declaring war.   Gestrini: Rastlin and Meloch couldn't be more opposite in thought if they tried. Only the Embrace, and their geographical distance, keeps Rastlin from outright declaring war on Meloch. He also refuses her healers, preferring more natural methods.
