The Free City of Amoria is the number one destination for vacations, relaxation, and fantasies in the world.  Situated on a tropical island paradise with warm temperatures, pristine beaches, clear blue seas, and boasting a city of unending entertainments and nightlife.  There are no judgments here and all races and manner of people are welcome and the city offers every amenity that anyone could ever dream of.

Demographics

As the premier vacation destination in the world, the population is constantly shifting.  Currently it has about 10,000 permanent residents with many more temporary visitors. 
Presently the population sits at about 40% human, 18% half-elf, 11% other planar beings, 10% half-orc, 10% half-dwarf, 8% elf (dark), 1% gnome, 1% halfling, and 1% dwarf.

Government

The government here is run directly by Lussuria and her sisters in The Council Of Desires. They determine every aspect of every building and group that operates in their city. They make all of the decisions and get final approval from Lussuria, before instructing the various guilds to make the changes. The guild heads will bring their concerns directly to the council, who will then determine the appropriate actions to be taken.

Defences

This city has no defenses other than being on an island in a peaceful region of the world. If attacked, all of the residents would band together to repel any invaders. The Council Of Desires would unleash their magics and abilities to defend the island as well.  However, due to the popularity and amenities offered by the city, no one wants to destroy it or be bothered to try and take over and run such a successful operation. As such the city has no enemies and any detractors are too far away to affect the city or its peoples.

Industry & Trade

The inhabitants here either work for or with one of the established city guilds.  Most work in hospitality offering various services, run shops selling both unique and mundane items, or maintain the grounds.

Guilds and Factions

The only guilds that are accepted here are those directly supported by Lussuria and her sisters.  While the sisters don't run the guilds, they do keep a close eye on them and oversee their operations.

• The Brewers Guild, maintains and supplies all of the beverages in the city.
• The Dispensary Guild, maintains and supplies all of the drugs in the city.
• The Lodging Guild, maintains and supplies all of the inns, taverns, apartments, and houses in the city.
• The Merchants Guild, maintains and supplies all of the vendors, shopkeepers, and traders in the city.
• The Hospitality Guild, maintains and supplies all of the prostitutes in the city.
• The Gaming Guild, maintains and supplies all of the gambling establishments in the city.
• The Entertainers Guild, maintains and supplies all of the theaters, plays, shows, and dancing in the city.
• The Combat Guild, maintains and supplies all of the arenas and fight clubs in the city.
• The Security Guild, maintains and supplies all of the policing and protection in the city.
• The Caretakers Guild, maintains and supplies all of the groundskeepers in the city.

History

The island where Amoria resides, formed from a volcanic eruption shortly after the The Sundering and the The Binding occurred. Just exactly when it became first occupied is unknown, but sailors have been reporting small huts and people on the island for about 100 years before the city of Amoria was founded. It is believed that Lussuria and her sisters began entertaining the passersby during this time. As they began to accumulate money, contacts, and permanent residents, they decided to build a great city dedicated to providing all types of pleasures. After years of trading pleasure for work, the city was established in 332 A.S. Over the centuries the city has evolved and grown into the most sought after enjoyment destination in the world.

Tourism

Tourism is the number one attraction and economy here.  The entire city is designed and devoted to providing for all manner of delights and enjoyments that a visitor could want and even many that they didn't know that they wanted. There are four main packages that can be purchased and each corresponds to a particular part of the city.  The rainbow package offers amenities in the outer area of the city, where the building are painted all of the colors of the rainbow.  The copper package takes tourists farther into the city where all of the buildings are copper colored.  The silver package brings visitors even farther into the city, to the area where all of the buildings are silver colored. The final gold package brings the guests to the center area where all of the buildings are gold colored.  The rainbow packages is the cheapest and has a variety of the simplest pleasures, while the gold package is the most expensive and has the more extreme indulgences.  The closer to the center of the city one gets, the more decadent the amenities become.

Architecture

The city is broken into four main sections and each has its own style of buildings. The outer section's buildings are made with both bamboo walls and thatched grass roofs or made from wood and painted a single color. This area is the most colorful and has building painted a rainbow of colors and shades. The next area has buildings made of stone, but they are covered in a copper metallic leaf coating and have green wooden roofs. The third area has buildings constructed of stone as well, but they are smooth and covered in a silver metallic leaf coating with vertical striations and have black wooden roofs. The final area has buildings made of symmetrical round stones, and they are covered in a gold metallic leaf coating and have red wooden roofs. The inner most building here is the capitol building and it is constructed entirely of smooth red rock.
Each area is separated from the next by 20 foot high walls of smooth black granite. Along the walls are periodic gates that are colored to match the area that they lead into. Throughout all of the areas are magnificent fountains, gardens, pool, streams, ponds and more. At night the streets are magically lit by a myriad of faceted, crystal, light balls atop high poles. Various colors cascade and dance down the streets and throughout the gardens.

Geography

This city was founded upon a relatively new, volcanic island in the tropics.  Large swaying palm trees, colorful flowers and unique plants fill the island from the volcanic slopes, to the city streets, to the sandy beaches around the magnificent city. White sand and beautiful, shelled beaches stretch for miles and shades of clear, blue water surround the island. Cool, clear streams tumble down the waterfalls and flow through the city to the lagoons beyond.

Natural Resources

Many species of plants found here seem to be unique to this island. The tremendous variety of plant life gives plenty of opportunity for discovering new uses for them.  While they are both beautiful and decorative, some have speculated that they may have other commercial or medicinal uses.
