Neyer
Neyer, also known as the City of Skilled Hands and the Jewel of the North, it is a multi-racial city-state sitting on the east side of Eushia. Neyer is regarded by many as the most cosmopolitan and the most civilized city in all of Eushia. The city is a member in good standing of the Free Lord's Alliance.
Government
The city has an elected representative (chosen by the heads of Estates) and they work with the Estates. The first Estate is from those of nobility and wealth, the second Estate is a collection of the churches and religions in the region, the Third Estate is comprised of all the various trades guilds and unions, then there is the Fourth Estate which comes from those of the Merchant's Guild. It is full of bureaucracy, but it generally works out just fine. In times of danger or perilous events the Grand Duke will be given wide berth in how he leads, but it is generally tempered by fears of assassination or conspiracies.
Industry & Trade
Merchants and artisans are everywhere in Neyer. The hills and mountains of Eushia are well known for the precious metals and stones that have been mined, but most of the best mines are controlled by various gnome and dwarf communities. They have many trade deals with the city and others for these and for some quality stone used across the world. Neyer is a very cosmopolitan city with many contributions to culture across the nations. There are lots of farms outside of the gates, but the wealthy tend to eat more of the imported foods than the locally grown and cultivated.
Guilds and Factions
Almost every guild and faction has some level of a base in the city from every trade, art, and adventurer guild to the many secret and not-so-secret factions that reside in every major city across Dierde.
History
Not much is known from before Neyer had built his base of operations centuries ago on this location. After his death the city began to sprout up around the old cabin and grew to become a very large and powerful city.
Natural Resources
There are some timbermills, farms with a variety of animals and crops, stone comes from the Dwarfs and Gnomes in the East as well as metals and gems. Wheat doesn't grow so great here, and so they grow more of oats, rye, and barley -- but a good variety of fruits and vegetables also are grown here.
