Haven
The second largest Imperial settlement on the Kanik peninsula, Haven is an important agricultural town, as well as a historically significant military outpost and, briefly, the capital of a Hahgi government. Haven is located on the eastern edge of the Shattered Coast, just a little ways south from The Broken Spires.
Imperial archaeologists have determined that the site of Haven has had some form of settlement for at least two millennia, though the ancient ghoblin architecture remains mostly unconnected to the modern town. The current settlement originates from Lan Sidar's outpost, founded in 215 IF during the First Goblin Crusade. It seems that the native Hahgi also used Sidar's outpost for military purposes, right up until the settlement was taken back by the crusaders during the Fourth Crusade. Haven had already entered into Lucrian popular culture by this time thanks to the popularity of the Sidari Church.
From 267 IF, Haven would be the agricultural powerhouse of the region, supplying food to the large Hahgi population. It also housed the largest Redcloak garrison on the peninsula, twin to the garrison in Thrane.
Later, it was the site of yet another major historical event in 393 IF when Qaniva Linaren successfully organised a rebellion in the town, utilising her own magical prowess and a poison native to the forests of Volodaria to allow locals to massacre the 1500-man
garrison. This rebellion is considered to have signalled the beginning of Abahk Stuz. Over the course of Abahk Stuz, Haven saw many battles in and around it as the Exarch in Lucrenia sought to land invading forces on the peninsula and many of its citizens ended up joining the Hahgiahk's armies. Later, in 401 IF, Haven seceded from the wider Hahgiahk, citing the need for its own government to deal with raids from the orkhs of the Broken Spires. The Kanneran government and the Haven government allied briefly after the success of the Vengeance Campaign, but ultimately both fell to a host commanded by General Vraidan Ffandor and Haven was once again returned to the Imperial fold in the autumn of 403 IF.
Haven remains an important military outpost and agricultural town to the region of Lucrenia, though a larger garrison is now maintained in Kannera. It is governed by a council of Hahgi representatives, though these representatives must answer to the garrisoned Redcloaks.
