Tiefling
A rare race, often considered a bad omen and frequently shunned in human society. They are said to be marked by demons, a punishment for some ancient sin.
Basic Information
Genetics and Reproduction
Tiefling genetics seem to be dominant, and most children born to a tiefling and a member of another race will be a tiefling. Very rarely, a child born to two tieflings will show none of the typical physical characteristics, and even more rarely, they will be a perfectly ordinary human child.
One in a thousand children born to human parents is a tiefling, and nobody really knows why. In human culture, legends tell of pacts with demons and ancient infernal bloodlines. Some think that the parents have made a deal with a devil, and often the family will be shunned, especially in smaller communities. Still others see tiefling children as a sign that the gods have been offended, and must be appeased.
