Nokhungaar

The land of the lost dragons. The independent dragonborn believe that they once served a great dragon civilization in Nokhungaar, much of which contains ruins of The Edyllys Empire. While many believe that the true dragons are long gone, some still search.   Modern day Nokhungaar is a stratocracy: there is no distinction between military and civilian, and the military command is the government structure. All dragonborn serve in the military for a term of three years starting at the age of 15 as a rite of passage to adulthood.

Territories

Bounded on the West by the Darastrix Ocean, and on the south by Jaxo Sound, Nokhungaar is isolated from the other kingdoms by the mostly impassable great Plains of Sussurr, the Erim Desert, and Hakkra.   The terrain is characterized primarily by an expansive savannah, with some tropical forests.

Religion

Dragonborn are not necessarily agnostic, but are not particularly religiously observant either. Religion tends to be more personal apart from a handful of cults.

Trade & Transport

The Dragonborn of Nokhungaar focus mainly on self sufficiency and do not have any major exports. Nevertheless, some members of other races who have settled in the area (along with a few Dragonborn) have found a lucrative trade in the high quality weapons and armor produced in the area, along with some not so legal trade in artifacts related to the ancient dragons. Some of this trade is often frowned upon by Dragonborn society, which holds the dragons sacred.   There is a demand for novelties and luxury items, primarily by expats but also by some of the Dragonborn. In particular, the Dragonborn have developed a taste for the spices of Aerey.   The only established routes to the other kingdoms are by land along poorly maintained trails around the borders of Hakkra, or by sea. As transport of goods is very difficult by land, most trade and travel goes through the small port city of Dobrid. The nearest port is Bonassa, which makes for a long voyage.
