Gnyx the Wise

Often regarded as the greatest tinkerer in all of Actum, if not Maritimae, or all of gnomekind for that matter. She is particularly well known for her labor saving devices, in particular, The Automated Democracy Clockwork.

Education

Precocious from a young age, she took up studies at the University of Actum early, and later traveled to the University of Bonna to further her studies.

Accomplishments & Achievements

From a young age she was fascinated with clocks, and quickly became well known for constructing excellent timepieces.
Her design for synchronized clocks was developed as a student at the University of Bonna, where she was irritated by the haphazard timing of classes. It was first implemented in the engineering building at the University of Actum, and proved to be much less of a maintenance hassle (or at least a more fun maintenance hassle.)
She became the youngest professor ever (at the time) at the University of Actum, and quickly founded the clockwork specialization within the engineering department.
Pouring through old notes and diagrams in her research wound up taking up so much time, she eventually took it upon herself to develop a standardized diagrammatic system for engineering designs. This became so popular with her colleagues and students, that it quickly became the standard and remains so to this day.
After her many accomplishments improving the university engineering program, she was judged to be the most qualified candidate to run the Maritimae Educational Bureau, and was dragged into politics against her will. This event prompted her to create what most consider her crowning achievement: The Automated Democracy Clockwork.
