The Entrin Fox

Yet another example of Aemark indoctrination. Gnomes look nothing like foxes...

The so-called Entrin Fox is a recently developed tale in the town of Entrin sourced from the series of unfortunate events plaguing the military contingents in and around the town. The northeastern warfront relies upon Entrin as lynchpin for supply lines and any act of sabotage is taken seriously. While the military suspects that the townspeople themselves are responsible for the problems, that has not stopped the rumor of the 'Entrin Fox' from emerging.   According to the tale, the Fox is a master thief and miscreant that works for the Kaokut Coalition. Having infiltrated the populace in magical disguise, they steal and copy important documents from military commanders, poison soldiers and beasts of burden, and otherwise ruin the supplies of the military. Whether true or not, the 'Fox Underfoot' letter brought the character into fruition and relevance to the military itself by essentially challenging the military to capture them.   The origin of the 'Fox' as a motif comes from a characterization of gnomes in typical Aemark lore. The sharp noses, thick facial hair and tufted hair in such tales resembles that of a fox (if one believes the Aemark version of gnomish appearance). Thus, the Entrin Fox is believed to be a gnome impersonating a human within the town and uses their magical aptitude and natural stealth (another characteristic given to gnomes by Aemark lore) to ruin the efforts of the Aemark military.

Capture the Fox

In response to the repeated events within Entrin, the Aemark Kingdom is offering a reward of 10,000 Marks to any individual who provides information that leads to the capture of the Entrin Fox.   Guess they got pressured into doing that. It's not going to be any one individual and I doubt anyone in Entrin likes the military being there anyway.
