Ava Ibori
Physical Description
Very lean and fairly small, with little muscle with a bit more in her arms. Reasonably agile and flexible, but it's just natural, no training. She is stronger than she looks and can carry quite a bit of weight.
Dark brown to black skin. Ectomorph 3-2-7. Fast metabolism. Rectangle to hourglass body shape.
Oval face shape. Small nose. Average ears. Some cheekbone definition. Rounded to soft angle arch eyebrows.
Small scars and lots of callouses on her hands. Standard lobe piercing on each ear. Blob birthmark on the back of her neck stretching to her right ear. If you squint it vaguely resembles a cross between an inverted L and a heart.
Right hand dominant. Messy, sporadic cursive writing. Walks with small, quick steps; she keeps her hands in her pockets and her head down, except when in her lab or with people she's really comfortable with, in which case she walks with her arms free. Her posture when she's comfortable is okay, but in unfamiliar situations, she hunches her shoulders to make herself small. Stands with her legs crossed and arms either hugging each other in a sort of crossed but not all the way position or down with hands clasped. Sits with her legs either crossed and down or both up on the chair with her hands tight in her lap and her head down. Doesn't gesture much when talking to other people, but when she's thinking she acts out everything with her hands. Doesn't like fighting and will only fight in self-defence, trying to injure an opponent with small, knife-like weapons of her own creation.

Always has a lot of tools and has a constantly changing variety of assorted building materials. Other than that, she doesn't really have any specialized equipment as she gives everything she creates to other people.
Mental characteristics
Her parents were loving and kind, if a little bit distant due to work. However, when she was only six years old, they were both killed, and she doesn't know what happened to them. She and
Ryker Ibori lived with a very kind foster family and went to high school, where she wasn't very popular and was often picked on. She slowly developed social anxiety, which her parents didn't really notice due to a lack of mental health education. They just thought she was shy. When
Ryker Ibori aged out of foster care, she went with him. She was only thirteen. They earned their living by selling Ava's technologies and killing demons for people. On one outing to hunt down a demon that had been stealing food nearby, they came across some government soldiers. They saw
Ryker Ibori with a weapon and arrested him; she barely got away. She lived on her own for a year, just barely surviving by making tech for other kids out of scraps. She found the
Project Seafire base not long after it was created, and joined immediately. She found
Ryker Ibori again a year and a half after that, brought him back to
Project Seafire, and helped him move up the ranks quickly.

No official employment, but she was a bit of a businesswoman. She created and sold technologies that people commissioned her to make.

Ryker Ibori that kept them alive for the year they spent alone. She single-handedly created the RnD department of
Project Seafire. She found her brother after his escape.
She was picked on a lot as a kid and never stood up to any of the bullies. She was never able to learn what happened to her parents. She failed to save
Ryker Ibori from prison, instead running away when he told her too.
She possesses severe social anxiety and a bit of generalized anxiety. Her parents died when she was only six and never found out what happened to them. She watched her brother get dragged off to prison by a bunch of government soldiers. Is absolutely terrified of public speaking; she can't do it in the slightest. She gets a lot of anxiety talking to new people and is always afraid she will say something embarrassing, wrong, or stupid. She's scared of isolation or being alone because of the time she spent fending for herself.
Logical and mechanical. Very book smart and good at solving problems. Great at science, coding, and engineering.
Believes in universal equality and safety. Believes everyone deserves a safe, happy home to live in. No one should be hurt by any other person, emotionally or physically. Everyone deserves sympathy.
Personality Characteristics
She wants to be truly useful to her friends and to create something honestly great. She wants to make a difference without being thrust into the spotlight. She wants to keep learning and improving for all of her life.
Absolutely amazing with electronics and technology. An amazing engineer, programmer, and designer. She can build practically anything from next to nothing. She's a great learner, reader, and listener. She is absolutely awful at public speaking and interacting with others she doesn't know well. She isn't very charismatic or very persuasive. She isn't good at practically any of the arts despite her appreciation of them.

Dislikes:
Incredibly smart. She can solve problems quickly in creative and unique ways. She has ingenuity and a lot of technological prowess. She's modest and satisfied in knowing she contributed without needing to be acknowledged by others.
Has social anxiety which prevents her from doing public speaking or interacting with people she doesn't know well comfortably. Very shy and goes out of her way to avoid talking to new people whenever possible. A huge pushover who lets herself be walked all over. Doesn't speak up and share her ideas with a group out of fear, she just does what she's told despite her own thinking.
Always has her hands working. If she isn't building something, she's fiddling with whatever she has in her hand, whether a bit of wire, clay or some other random materials. Fiddles with her necklace. Picks at scabs. Bites on her lip or tongue. Tends to pinch or scratch at her skin. Curls her toes up when stressed/upset.
Decent, but when she's working on something non-stop she kind of forgets to take care of herself and forgets to sleep, eat, and clean herself.

Great relationship with
Ryker Ibori, and used to have a great relationship with her birth parents. She had an okay relationship with her foster parents but hasn't seen them since she left.
Very strongly an introvert. No confidence and no charisma with people she doesn't know. Definitely a follower, not a leader. A great friend to people she's close with. Very supportive, sweet, and kind, but not very good at voicing her opinion and will often. Doesn't make friends easily because she doesn't talk to people she doesn't know. Very good manners when actually forced to speak. Says an excessive amount of 'sorry's.

Fairly casual except for when talking about tech, in which case she uses a ton of technical terms and no one but the best of her department can understand it. Doesn't insult people because she hates the idea of insulting someone and doesn't swear. If she compliments you without prompting, she actually means it. She otherwise doesn't compliment people unless she feels like she has to.
History
The two met when Ava stumbled into the Project Seafire base, and Carson helped convince Angel to let Ava stay. Ava created the RnD department and was vital to the survival of Seafire. The two slowly grew close together, and Angel was one of the few people Ava felt truly safe with. Ava was a fellow logician for Angel to relate to and learn from.

They became friends for the sake of Project Seafire and to make a difference in the world. Ava is friends with Angel for support and to feel comfortable and safe. Angel is friends with Ava to have someone who they can relate to and who can relate to them. They are both friends that can learn and grow together.

History
They were born two years apart, Ryker being the older of the two. When their parents died, they were placed in a foster home together, and they left it together as well. They kept each other alive for all the time that they spent together on the streets and relied on each other for support. Being apart from each other was one of the hardest parts of Ryker's prison experience and Ava's street survival. Ryker spent six months searching for Ava when he escaped. The two were beyond happy to have found each other again. Ava helped lift Ryker up to the top of Seafire, and the two went right back to protecting each other because there isn't anything else they knew how to do.

They're siblings. They are the only people who fully understand each other and their history. They both act as a shield to each other. They are a reliable source of love, humour, protection, and stability. For years, they have been each others constant, and they continue to be.

Both are queer. They each respect each other for having the qualities they themselves don't possess--Quinn likes Ava's willingness to be seen as weak, and Ava likes Quinn's confidence--but they don't like how extreme the other takes those qualities.

Alexa needed tech when she got to Project Seafire if she was to be able to keep up with the organization. She liked that Ava always seemed to listen to her and Ava liked that Alexa didn't really expect her to talk back much and loved her tech despite her lack of understanding.

Project Seafire, she's technically broke, as
Project Seafire gets its income from saving citizens or from being hired to clear out demon dens.
Project Seafire's biggest source of income is the Intrigue department that
Tally Wilson runs, who steal resources and money from the Northern Sector overly rich corrupt residents.

Ava is one of my favourite characters to write. She feels like one of my most interesting characters to explore, but I'm always struggling with making sure she is balanced in strengths and weaknesses. I'm working on her all the time to make someone readers can truly enjoy.
