Scorpion
Size Matters
Three varieties of scorpion are known on Deadmouth Island. The common black scorpion - a tiny but dangerous venomous arachnid that most people are, at least, familiar with is the most common. Giant versions of the common black are found in the wilds, reaching a length of up to four and a half feet from the head to the base of the tail. The rarest version is the monstrous scorpion which can grow up to twelve feet in length and has a paralyzing poison that it uses to immobilize creatures even larger than itself before consuming them alive. Tales are told of a monstrous scorpion surprising, paralyzing and devouring a mammoth in the southern plains of Deadmouth Island, though the veracity of this claim is unsubstantiated given that no mammoth has been seen on Deadmouth Island in two centuries.
