Iron Stomach. The chirobine has advantage on saving throws against disease.
Light Frame. The chirobine is considered to be a Medium animal for the purpose of determining its carrying capacity.
Multiattack. The chirobine makes two attacks with its beak if flying. When on the ground it also makes two sting attacks.
Beak. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 12 (2d8+3) 2d8+3 piercing damage. If the target is a Small or smaller creature, it is grappled (escape DC 16). Until the grapple ends, the chirobine cannot bite another target.
Sting. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: (1d6+2) 1d6+2 piercing damage plus (4d8) 4d8 poison damage. The target must make a DC 12 Constitution saving throw, taking 22 (4d8) 4d8 poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one
Swallow. The chirobine makes a bite attack against a Small or smaller creature it has grappled and the attack hits, the target is swallowed and the grapple ends. While swallowed, the target is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside the chirobine , and it takes 7 (3d4) 3d4 acid damage at the start of each of the chirobine's turns. A chirobine can have only one creature swallowed at a time.
If the chirobine takes 8 damage or more on a single turn from the swallowed creature, the chirobine must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw at the end of that turn or regurgitate the creature, which falls prone in a space within 10 feet of the chirobine. If the chirobine dies, a swallowed creature is no longer restrained by it and can escape from the corpse by using 15 feet of movement, exiting prone.
The chirobine is a chimaeric creation. Some twelve feet long from beak to tail, it has the bald head of a vulture with a sharp curved beak, a feathered and winged serpentine body, a double tail, one used for flying, the other, barbed tail tucked underneath in flight and used as a weapon in conflicts. The chirobine has the eight arachnid legs of a giant spider.
The chirobine will swoop down on creatures and snatch them up in their beak, carrying medium creatures and swallowing smaller creatures. It will then wither drop or regurgitate them from a height. After killing sufficient creatures in this manner, it will guard the bodies until they begin to rot before devouring the carrion.
In combat against sentient creatures, a chirobine will recognize the threat of spellcasters and concentrate its attack on them, landing and attacking with its tail in an attempt to incapacitate them before they can be threat with their magic.
A chirobine could be found in any environment, as it is a magically created creature.
