Session 9: Entering the Facility

General Summary

October 25, 113

In the early morning, Jasper goes to Gottfried's house and requests that he help him complete a job on the job board. He explains that there is a facility that the Engineers would like explored in the hopes of finding old world technology. Jasper is hoping to find old bodies to take samples from or medical technology to collect.

Travel

They travel at a normal pace at make it to the facility without difficulties or encounters.

Entrance

Gottfried expresses concern that it is too easy to find the facility and that the door isn't locked. He questions why no one else has found this place when it was so easy for them to find now. They debate about leaving, but eventually decide to go ahead and explore the place.

Supply Room

Gottfried uses the machine and gains a cybernetic implant. He also is inflicted with insanity that causes him to see ghosts and shades moving about the facility.

Main Room

They find the LUMA folder in the office. Gottfried expresses concern regarding what they would do if LUMA was in the facility. They decide that this isn't something they can plan for since they don't have enough information.

Chemical Storage

They find barrels of chemicals marked with a symbol that Jasper believes means "Serious Health Hazard." They find small vials of something in the same room.

Control Panel

Andy breaks and then repairs the control panel in an effort to figure out how to get into the system so they can unlock the door leading further into the facility. Then Gottfried tries and finds that the implant he gained when he used the machine makes it easier for him to engage with the computers here. They unlock the doors and head down to the next floor.

They have completed the first floor and are just at the stairs of the second floor.

Godfried hesitated, eyeing the machine's opening like it might bite.

"You're sure you can fix whatever happens?" he asked, voice low.

Jasper gave a confident shrug, hands in his pockets. "I’ve stitched up worse. Even if it takes your arm off—I can reattach it."

"That’s not exactly comforting," Godfried muttered, but he rolled up his sleeve anyway.

He inhaled deeply and slid his forearm into the slot. For a breathless moment, nothing—then a sudden, precise stab lanced into his skin. A cry caught in his throat as pain ignited along his nerves, spreading up his arm like wildfire. His vision went white.

A torrent of numbers spilled across his sight—blue, flickering symbols tumbling too fast to read. Then gone. He blinked hard. The room reeled.

The machine let go with a soft hiss, like a sigh of relief. Godfried staggered back, clutching his arm. It was intact, but something felt… different. Not just in his body—in his mind. A pressure now lived behind his eyes. Something foreign. Watching.

"Godfried?" Jasper asked, stepping closer. "You alright?"

Godfried didn’t answer. He was staring past Jasper.

A faint figure shimmered beside him—tall, blue, and translucent. Its face was half-formed, but its eyes were clear, fixed on Godfried. Jasper followed his gaze, saw nothing.
“What are you looking at?” Jasper asked.

Godfried didn’t answer right away. He just whispered, “You don’t see it?”
