Related Reports
Sept 12-14, 113
The fight ended as suddenly as it began—Jonas collapsing in a twisted heap, his body still twitching as the last of the infection’s rage faded. Silence settled in, broken only by the heavy breathing of the survivors and Stella’s labored panting. Jasper, blood smeared across his hands, rose from the dog’s side, having stabilized her. He then moved to the body, collecting a sample of the corrupted blood with clinical precision. Godfried didn’t speak as he wrapped Jonas’s remains in cloth and hefted the weight onto one of the horses. They would bring him back to Camp Hope—keeping him from being a test subject just didn't seem to matter any more.
This was a grim reminder of what they were fighting against.
