King Franco DeMarco

Franco DeMarco was the only surviving child of the previous King, Titus DeMarco, and Irelia DeMarco, after the couple suffered a stillbirth and an unfortunate accident claiming the life of their second child at only 4 years of age, with Franco narrowly avoiding death himself. Franco took the Shathenian throne at a reasonably young age after Titus was killed during a hunting incident in the Vale of Omens, alongside The Bannerstriders. Irelia eventually passed away of natural causes during Franco's late 20s, leaving him alone to rule.
He began to curate a council of trusted advisors in positions of power, to bolster his own position and ensure any decisions made were well-thought and as fair as they could be. One of these council members would be Nico Destinn, the current Bannerstrider commander and regent of Shathen after Franco's untimely death at the hands of Skarrl. Franco married Christelle Devenion in his late 30s, and eventually managed to produce two children, Katrina DeMarco (8 years old) and Oskar (5 years old). The couple had issues conceiving until Killian Vernier, the high priest advisor that Franco kept on his council, managed to contract some divine intervention and allowed the couple to procreate.
During the 1428AC, whilst the war with Drosten was beginning to lull, Franco was unfortunately murdered by Skarrl, an assassin and for Paladin working for Isaac Forthwind. However, after investigation by The Ragtags, it turned out that Skarrl had acted of his own volition, and single-handedly bought the war back to the attention of the public. Nico was named regent in the absence of anyone of proper age to rule, and began to push a massive recruitment drive. He then led the Bannerstrider army through Drostenian territory and laid siege to Isloaham
