Sarpedons

The Sarpedons, a long forgotten force long thought wiped out with the fall of the vampires. These fierce warriors of the worshippers of the vampiric snake goddess, Myranthis were rightly feared for their cruelty and tenacity in battle and their skill at arms. These devout champions were unwavering in their loyalty to their deity and unrelenting in their pursuit of their prey. Whoever their fury would be directed at was as good as dead. Because of this they were prized as temple custodians, assisting the Guardians in protecting these unholy grounds. not only that but also sought as an elite bodyguard force.
Perhaps the most daunting thing about these creatures is the ability to mask their appearance and appear as normal humans, which they use to great effect. Being able to disguise themselves in this way makes them excellent infiltrators. They have been known to work their way in to various places in their human form, getting close to certain high value targets, biding their time till they can catch them unawares. At this they will revert to their true form and strike with such speed and ferocity their prey is most likely dead before they know what has hit them.

A strike team is often comprised of four to five members, including one matriarchal team leader. As is their way, this team will usually be made up of the female of the species as this is a female led race, reflected in their deity, the goddess Myranthis.

The Sarpedons were not only the force but also the name of the race of a creature consisting of a humanoid form from the waist up but snake body below that, much like their much larger cousins, the Guardians. These creatures would reach up to 10 feet in height/length, depending on how you look at them. Having this combination of snake and humanoid meant they were very fast and agile while still having great musculature.
