The Material Plane

The Material Plane consists of the so-called Prime Material, and a number of coexistent planes. The Prime Material encompasses vast patches of so-called wild space, strewn with crystal spheres that usually contain a sun and a number of celestial objects, usually capable of supporting life.
These crystal spheres are controlled by ur-deities, or 'god fathers', that often benefit from the lion's share of psychic energy created by indigenous mortal beings (often created by themselves to this very end), and are often managed by one or more pantheons of regular deities to which the mortals align themselves.

The many crystal spheres of the Prime Material Plane are seperated by vast, seemingly unsurmountable distances of wild space, but connected through currents of magical energy called phlogiston.
Likewise astral conduits connect the spheres to the outer planes, allowing for the sipihoning of psychic energy or 'soul migration'.
