Order of the Violet Stole

Proceeded by silence and smell of incense the Porphyrogenitus Praetorea or the Order of the Violet Stole protects the streets of Maussengart. They are marked by their expensive violet shawls that are worn around their necks, drooping to either side of their tabards. The smell of burned myrr follows them wherever they go. Anointed by the Order of Sabazious, they are the Vanguard in Baron Gaspar's army and protect his wards from danger during times of relative peace. Never sleeping, never resting, and always hungry for the corpses of the dead the Order is a career army made up of ghouls. What level of intelligence each ghoul is capable of is a well kept secret in the Order, among the [vampire lords who operate adjunct leadership positions. For an endless army at the gates, the Dark Lord Sabazious favors these creatures with an insatiable desire for rotten flesh. Despite being the ideal killing machines for protecting refugees from the living dead, they are universally feared by the common folk who know very little of the necromantic arts. Doubly so, new recruits are fed in from Baron Gaspar's death tax bringing the possibility of seeing the desecrated body of a family member chowing down on a pile of zombie corpses.

Structure

Overseer- a temporal title granted by the Baron to control and operate the Order, every two years a new Overseer is selected from an eligible pool of nobles by the Baron.

Culture

Unnerving to the dead and the living alike, they are mindless undead that are allowed to wander the streets. Holding post at the gates of the city and it's districts, the guard scares most civilians from sneaking past them far before any conflict comes about. During the Carousing Hour they are often the subject of stories of cruelty and tyranny. People fear that they perform abductions during the sleeping hours of the day, and that rogue ghouls prey upon citizens that sneak outside the gates during the dawning of the red sun. In reality, during this period of time they remain blind like any other undead in the city. For the Seekers of the Sun, these servants are ideal targets for public assassinations due to the value of the talismans and equipment they carry. This has resulted in several curfew crackdowns by the Barony and stricter trade rules in the market.

Public Agenda

Public Order is the utmost priority. Though they have no say, ghouls are the primary resource for this Order and they will frequently, and sometimes publicly remove dissidents who think the use of these minions is dangerous or unethical.

Assets

Orderhall in the The Grand Temple of Pilgrims. A company that makes up the vanguard of the Baron's army, roughly two hundred in size at any given time divided into three platoons. Each squad consists of ten ghouls and two handlers which provide support.
Ghouls are created on the campus of the The Grand Temple(landmark:21c27dcd-d36f-4956-92f7-0d8dd4b16457) and sometimes are modified at the @[Quarantine District. These places are fully furnished laboratories that create and hold a veritable horde of talismans and equipment to create, maintain and house these undead.
