Dragons
"You see those Dragons? They are the oldest creatures on the planet. They have no children and have no parents. They are spirits in all but name."Dragons are large winged reptiles found in the mountains of the Known World and the New World. They are creatures who can manipulate pure Elemental energy. Dragons are known to be quite intelligent and reclusive, only revealing themselves to chase adventurers away from their home. There are only a few Dragons left on Dankar, as many disappeared when the Ice Age occurred. No-one knows exactly how many there are left or when they reappeared. The remaining Dragons each have one Element; no two Dragons share the same one.
Location
Dragons are normally found high in the mountains and on clifftops, with the Hydro Dragon living mainly in water. The colours of their scales usually match their surroundings, as they prefer to be in places where their Element is abundant. No-one knows if any live in the Old World as no-one has dared venture far enough into the continent to check.Basic Information
Behaviour
Dragons are intelligent creatures that are often misunderstood because they are non-verbal. They are introverted beings, often retreating to their abodes whenever they hear footsteps. There have been many stories of people trying to befriend Dragons, only for their efforts to backfire spectacularly if they offend or disturb the mighty creatures.
Dragons are mainly seen in the skies as a beam of coloured light dashing across the sky. They are very proud creatures and willing to show off their powers. However, their pride is often a barrier to getting help, especially if they find themselves hurt by tree branches or other plants. Many people learned the hard way when their efforts to help get rebuffed by an annoyed Dragon.
There is often a benefit to helping Dragons, despite all the challenges. Those who successfully befriend or help a Dragon gain a thankful, loyal and sarcastic ally for life.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Dragons use their powers by turning it into a pure form of Elemental energy. This energy is known as Dragon Breath, as it is often spewed out of the mouth. However, Dragon Breath also allows Dragons to mimic their Element, and turn into Elemental energy themselves, so they can fly at the fastest speeds.
Each Dragon was known to manipulate one Element only. The way Dragons used Arcanis was different to how humanoids used it. For example, the Cryo Dragon exists in the White Forest, although ice is thought of as a subpower of water. In fact, there are plenty of stories of Dragons who manipulate elements that very few humanoids have, such as sand or magma.
