Cinogen
Cinogens are monsterous, mutated creatures that seek out destruction and violence against all living things. The creation of a cinogen is the result of a Human without the Resistance Gene being exposed to Mutagen and undergoing Cinogenic Mutation.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Cinogens are most often bipedal, vaguely-human creatures with malformed features, covered in tumorous flesh.
Genetics and Reproduction
Cinogens are incapable of sexual reproduction like humans. Instead, they reproduce through the infection of humans via touching open wounds and inducing Cinogenic Mutation.
Growth Rate & Stages
Once a cinogen has been harmed by any sort of external force, it will undergo a period of adaptive mutation in which it will slowly begin to evolve resistances against whatever had previously harmed it. Due to this, it is extremely controversial to harm a cinogen without killing it, as it will certainly return even stronger than before.
Ecology and Habitats
Cinogens live exclusively within the megacity of Ruin.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Cinogens do not need to eat or drink for survival, although some individuals may eat humans that attack them as a form of dispatching them. Due to lacking functional digestive organs, the remains are almost always expunged from the oral cavity at a later date.
Behaviour
Cinogens are incredibly violent and destructive creatures that exist only with the goal of killing living things, destroying everything around them and transforming humans into other cinogens.
Additional Information
Uses, Products & Exploitation
In a method known as "Bolstering", certain infamous factions and groups have been known to capture and physically torture cinogens with the goal of manipulating their adaptive mutation to make them as strong as possible before unleashing them on enemy factions. This method of attack is greatly forbidden in nearly every settlement within Ruin.
Facial characteristics
Varies greatly. Most cinogens possess at least two eyes and one mouth.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Cinogens exist exclusively within Ruin.
Average Intelligence
The intelligence of cinogens is a controversial and heavily debated topic. No individual has ever definitive signs of human intelligence, but certain specimens have shown at least a basic understanding and utilization of logic, such as pushing rubble from a height onto passerbys, or targeting the electronic components of security systems.
Almost always bloated or bulky due to the overabundance of tumors.
Varies greatly, though cinogens never exihibit bright or vibrant colours.
