Rostwaithe Castle

his ancient fortification has spent most of recent history being inhabited by distant descendants of the Wayland line - those who left Eá-galwen following the death of Lord Roland Wayland and chose to spend their remaining fortune eeking out an existence at the edge of the valleys surrounding Dol Gadmen.   Located as far west as one can be in the Steppe before the Rhakhis Peaks, Rostwaithe Castle is known for how perpetually damp it is. Surrounded by some of the region's largest waterfalls in the last valley before the mountains, condensation mixed with constant winds means that moss and lichen grow over every inch of the castle's stone surface. It is difficult to light a fire in this place, and in winter its inhabitants often stay in Dol Gadmen with the desire for a night of warmth and dryness.   Castle Rostwaithe lies very close to the eastern side of the Tee-Niyan Pass. It is often the last good night's sleep for the Disciples of the Sky or any foolhardy travellers who choose to brave the pass.
