Eralys, the moon man
Daënfel's only moon - a large, spherical landmass that is tinged a shade of white-gold - has long throughout history been named Eralys, or the moon man as the Dagnir Sen call him.
The celestial body of Eralys, meaning "the pledge", is named such for his two promised wives, the sisters Nywana and Arienna, the evening and morning stars, who were bitter rivals in ancestral times. For much of the year, Eralys spends the majority of the day in the sky, sitting tall and proud over both dusk and dawn.
The story of Eralys goes that he was banished from his community during the the age of Mythos for disobeying the laws of marriage. The Astronomer took pity on the man, as he knew that Eralys was blessed with visions of prophecy and had seen an omen of ill fortune, which had influenced the man and caused him to take action to prevent that future from occurring.
Eralys sought out his creators to plead his innocence, and while he could not return to his people, the Avanís saw the truth in his words and bade him rise to the skies, so that he could watch down over his people and protect them for eternity. When they passed to the Cycle, Nywana and Arienna were lifted to join him, where the two continued their bitter feud which had defined their lives. As one rises to join Eralys as he watches over the lands, the other runs away, returning twelve hours later to become the moon man's bride once more.
