The Broadcast

Before the Uprising, there was discontent. Before discontent, there was the Broadcast. In the depths of winter, just before the new year following a month of strange phenomena, every television and radio channel in the world was hijacked. What played was a message from a mysterious figure, matter-of-factly stating the impossible: that the fae were real, and they wanted power.
While the Broadcast played in every language of every country, Quealin representatives entered buildings of power, meeting with those in charge to prove their existence. Civin revealed themselves to their friends and family. Dhamin approached the farmers and workers near their homelands. The Broadcast sparked months of unrest and uncertainty, eventually culminating in the Uprising itself.

The Broadcast

"This is a message to humanity. By now you have seen our influence: your concrete wastelands overtaken by our magic. New growth spreading between the cracks of your pavements and the brick and glass of your buildings is not accidental.
"I am an Overseer of the Elven community. An ambassador of my peoples. I am broadcasting this message throughout [LOCATION NAME] and its surrounding habitats as my kin across the world do the same.
"We have been living among you for centuries. We are not the product of fantasy and children's tales. We are real. You have seen our influence and now we have infiltrated your governments. We have but one request: allow us position in your communities; voice in your democracies. Let us be a part of this world you created before you destroy ours to keep it.
"We mean no harm, but you have seen but a fraction of our influence. If there is violence or resistance towards us, we will give no quarter. Make your decisions -- cast your votes if you will. We will be watching. We will be listening."
