Civin (City Elves)

The Civin (IPA: /sɪvɪn/, common name City Elves) have been living amongst humanity for decades, hidden amongst us and grown from the power of our constructions and technology. They are considered the closest to humans in both appearance and behaviour, and are responsible for the majority of modern Magic-Technology, being the most likely race to combine magic with science. Though their abilities with magic are limited, City Elves are widely regarded as a formidable force thanks to their advancements in Magic-Technology and their generally deep interest in social and political change.

Basic Information

Anatomy

City Elves are often shorter in stature than other elf races, especially the High Elves. Their metabolism is closer to humans' than any other elf race, thus can gain more weight than other elves and it is not uncommon to see overweight and even obese City Elves. City Elves generally have soft facial features, with high but not sharp cheekbones and a curved but noticeable jawline. Their noses are generally round, with a soft bridge and rounder tip, and their eyes are also round and wide. They can have any skin tone observed in humans. City Elf ears are shorter than High Elves and generally contain a straighter point, though some have been known to curve slightly at the tip. Their hair can be naturally any colour, but is often also dyed.

Genetics and Reproduction

Due to the Civin being borne from a combination of elements (natural, magical and manmade alike), the genetic variation between them spans

Civilization and Culture

Common Dress Code

City Elves are resourceful and accustomed to scavenging in human cities, and so their fashion is usually pieced together from scrapped or damaged clothes. It is not unusual to see a City Elf wearing armour pieces made from old rubber or scrap metal, and they are known for sewing their own bags and satchels. City Elves are also one of the most decorated of Elven races, and thus tend to wear more jewellery, particularly stretched ears with spiral and spiked designs.
