Blood On The Vine Tavern
A weathered sign outside once pronouncing the name of the establishment now reads “Blood on the Vine Tavern”, the “of” having been scratched off and replaced. A smoky, run-down dive by virtually any standard, the Blood of the Vine Tavern is, nonetheless, the only true gathering place remaining to the oppressed folk of Barovia Proper. Even so, its patrons are few as most of local population remains both impoverished and terrified. The tavern serves a single beverage- a common red wine labelled Purple Grapemash No. 3. The tavern is owned by a band of Vistani who ensure the patrons pay their tabs and otherwise seem to disdain the company of the locals. The bar is tended by a broken, middle aged man named Arik the Barkeep who takes orders for drinks but otherwise seems oblivious to the goings on around him.
The room is warmly lit but a fireplace off to the side. There are a handful of tables but, hardly anyone inside. Two men sit at the bar. To the the right of the door, three women sit around a table all dressed in brightly colored clothing. To the left, a man lost in thought, pondering something. He looks up at you all and stares intently. Finally a third man sits off to the right closer to the bar. As you three walk in, he stands up and makes his way to leave.
Strahd's Spy
Radu Radovich: A rogue like character sits to the side of the room alone. He looks at the party, stands up, and begins to leave. As he is walking out, one of the sisters hisses: "You better pay your tab Radu, or else" He tosses a few coins at them, grumbles, and leaves. As he walks past the party, he tries to pick pocket someone. Arik the Barkeep:- Sounds Like Eeore from whinny the Poo
- A small glass of wine costs 1 cp. A pitcher of wine costs 1 sp. After serving drinks, Arik returns to cleaning glasses. He ignores all attempts to question him.
Ismark Kolyanovich
- Invites the party to sit with him and pays for their tab.
- Asks the party to help him get his sister to safety. If they agree, he asks them to meet him at his mansion in a couple of hours. His sister is currently sleeping and he doesn't want to wake her yet.

You Still Eating That?
A man walks up to the counter, and proceeds to order a bowl a chili. The bartender says that the man sitting next to him just ordered the last bowl they had. That man is just sitting there, not eating the chili. After watching him not eating for a while, the first man asks him, "Are you going to eat that?" The second man replies; "No, you can have it if you want." So the first man takes the bowl and starts eating. About halfway through the bowl, he's chewing when he feels a crunch. He looks down only to see half a dead rat sitting in the chili. He immediately throws all of it up, back into the bowl. The second man looks at him and says; "Yeah, that's about as far as I got too."
