Session Zero: Banished

General Summary

The campaign opened with Kalli and Nathan inflitrating the city of the gods, Celestial Zenith, with Basilico Riez, the contact who was to help them sneak into the city. They made their way to the house of Trance Widowcord, a politician and the target of the assassination. They sneak through his house and into his study, unaware of the three shadowy figures hiding in the rafters.   Simultaneously, Lucky and Embla appear in a reading nook of the same house. Books strewn around sport the same Cultivori script and calendar on the table states the year as 1263. Instead of punching through to their home, Embla's device seems to have pushed them more than 500 years into the future. The terrified Aniwa taca, Magen, who was previously occupying the reading nook nearly calls for help, but Lucky informs him that they're interdimensional Stormfront agents, the police force of Celestial Zenith. He immediately becomes enraptured with them and states that being a Trueno has always been his greatest desire. They mention that they're trying to get home, and Magen tells them that his father, Trance Widowcord might be able to help. He leads them to the study.   Outside the study, Lucky notices the figures sitting on the rafters, and deciding to shoot first and ask questions later, pulls one of them off their perch with a ghostly roll of bandaging. The figure rips his hood off, revealing himself as a Trueno and demands to know why Magen is helping these two, who are presumably accomplices of the assassins who just entered the room. Magen tells the Trueno that Lucky and Embla are interdimensional Stormfront agents. Lucky agrees, and manages to persuade the Trueno. He believes her, but is incredibly disgruntled that Arcwolf would send another team in on this without letting him know.   Inside, Kalli and Nathan hear the scuffling and Basilico spits a curse, saying that the team outside is being sloppy. Kalli threatens Basilico.   Lucky blows the door in with a blast of energy and tells Magen to hide.   The Trueno, cursing her apparent abandonment of the plan runs in, followed by his compatriots.   BATTLE ENSUES.   The Trueno are bested by the assassins and interlopers, but Astro Arcwolf, god and leader of the Stormfront, appears and subdues them. As it turns out, the assassination job was a sting to apprehend the infamous Nathan Ashblood.   In the process of processing the criminals, Basilico uses an unknown drug to subdue the god and abduct him, somehow pinning the abduction on the PC's.   They're taken to trial, where they meet the other Creadores. Genarm Pilatai Vance Hammer and the angel, Librus Octane, who sat at Lorem's seat. Notably absent were Mama Black, Lockstitch, and the abducted Astro Arcwolf.Lucky uses her power to convince the Creadores that they're interdimensional agents, which gave Genarm pause. He asked Pilatai to confirm this. Upon looking at them, her serene expression became troubled and she stated that Kalli was one of Lockstitch's. She opened her eyes to gaze at them, and suddenly froze, saying something about a Watcher. Genarm, not knowing what to make of this, pushed for a verdict.   Genarm sentenced them to death via Phyte with the others' approval, and the PC's were led out of the room.   They were placed into a prisoner transport car and led out of the city. During transit, the group managed to free themselves and once the Sandsnekke stopped, they ambushed and killed the executioners.   They found themselves at a shore, though the water was covered in a heavy black fog. When asked about it, Magen told them it was Phyte, and that it was extremely dangerous. To test this, Lucky dipped one of the executioners' corpses into the fog. At a touch, the corpse began to disintegrate, its skin dissolving rapidly.   They heard another sandsnekke and prepared an ambush.   The sandsnekke stopped nearby and two voices could be heard arguing. The male voice, who would turn out to be Leemond Doppel, was saying they should leave, because a Brusher Patrol was approaching. The female voice, Spectra Garde, was arguing that it was their job to save people who were exiled from Celestial Zenith. They investigated the sandsnekke and were ambushed by the PC's.   Leemond was furious and indignant at being put at gunpoint, but Spectra managed to smooth things out with the PC's.   As Irisa, the sun and glowing eye of Pilatai rose over the desert, the PC's accompanied Spectra and Leemond to Sandy Terminal.
